Tesco CC & petrol points

One poster has made 7 out of 20 contributions in this thread so far, generally quite wrong, and has apparently failed to understand the contributions of others.
My experience - and unlike that poster I have regularly bought Tesco fuel - is the same as the OP and several others. Using my Tesco MC as a Clubcard produces 1 point per pound. Then using another card to pay produces benefits on that card, whether points, Avios, cashback or whatever.
The OP reports an apparent change of Tesco poilicy which, if confirmed, would be bad news and failure of Tesco to advise a change in T+Cs.
And you've made 1 post which I fear sadly adds nothing but further confusion to the whole situation.
There's nothing needing confirmation - it's all as in the Tesco link which I have already provided0 -

If you're trying to tell me that I've not been receiving 1 point per £1 spent on fuel when presenting my Tesco credit card as the Clubcard in the last few months then you're incorrect.
It's not for me to tell you how many points you get awarded, but I have outlined the current usual position Tesco offer their cardholders (clubcard & credit card) clubcard points.

Whenever I fill up I always used the tesco credit card as a clubcard and payed with my aqua card.
I always filled up a full tank every 2 week of £70 so that total points I would get is 70 clubcard points.
I am currently off work so have not filled up in a couple of weeks so can't check.
If this has changed it's very sneaky of tesco's part as the whole reason I got their credit card was to get the full point rather than half when using the normal clubcard.
If this is the case then I think we should all complain about having no correspondence from them about this change.
And for me the tesco credit card has become useless and will be cancelled.0 -

Yes, I would advise you likewise.
If you do not use your tesco credit card as a credit card it really is useless and potentially a security risk.
My advice would be to call them now and cancel this unwanted credit card.
You can still get clubcard points on with a simple clubcard. They even give you a couple of keyfobs you can attach to the car keys so you'd never be without it when filling up0 -

You haven't. They have for a long time paid their Mastercard holders 1 point per £1 for fuel when using the Mastercard as Clubcard. They never reduced it after "normal" Clubcard petrol purchases dropped to 1 point per £2 of fuel.
I can't really respond to this politely.
They don't effing treat me differently to many of the other posters in this thread. Why are you do entrenched in a view that is inaccurate?
Keep digging.
I am sorry I have not given you the advice you wanted to hear.
However I provided a link to the Tesco website that explains how clubcard points are awarded.
I am just puzzled as to why you receive more than Tesco otherwise state.0 -
FACT 1. For the 2.5 years period quoted, I - like many others on this thread - have received 1 point per £1 when using my Tesco CC as a clubard without using it to pay.
FACT 2. When not using my CC, but using a clubcard, I have only received 1 point per £2.
FACT 2 is the position stated on the Tesco website for both clubcard or clubcard CC. FACT 1 is not supported by the Tesco website, and it looks like it was an IT bug that has been closed.0 -

The last time I bought fuel from Tesco was on 7/12/13, and I got 51 points from a £51.18 spend - i.e. the normal 1 point per £ from using my Tesco Credit Card as a Clubcard only (despite what Atidi keeps drivelling on about). However, as others have said, if this "bonus" is now defunct then I have no reason to keep my Tesco credit card any longer as the rewards from actually spending on it are pretty poor. I'll be filling up again over the weekend so I shall see what happens then.0

Was it really there about mastercard holders earning double points? Do you remember the rough wording, or roughly what page it was on, so I can try to dig it out?0
