Tesco CC & petrol points

my Clubcard Credit Card arrived.
i have been using it as a clubcard in-store, with no problems. i haven't filled up at Tesco yet though, as ive had such great discounts from Morrisons.
i don't want to spend on it at all, as i have a current Balance Transfer on it.
i will use it as a Clubcard when buying diesel soon, and always pay at the kiosk anyway.
out of interest...i wonder whether a Clubcard Credit Card works as a clubcard if the credit card account is closed. i guess not, but in a few months, when my BT deal ends, i would quite like to close the account, so i might get to test it.0 -

Interesting idea.
As an aside, I can confirm I also got 1 point per £1 when paying at pump today, for standard unleaded - it's not just for kiosk payments.0 -
Yes it does ...
Mine expired last October (cc account closed) and is still working for points

Do you get the double points, eg 1 point per £1 on fuel?
I did notice a while ago that on my list of clubcards linked to my account, I had an old credit card on there from years ago. That explains why points still make it thru to the right account.0 -
very interesting. thank you. i will be keeping the card, even if not the account then.:A0

And no possibility of it being charged for the fuel purchase.
I miss out on my 'free' packet of 99p biscuits every month though (Tesco statement balances of 99p or less are treated as a "small balance write-off")

So, today, I did another experiment at Tesco petrol pump.
Used my Finest Black Credit credit card (paid at the pump). Inserted the credit card only and bought £4 of fuel. Paid on the credit card and received 2 points.
Then, filled up again using the same card but this time selected "pay in kiosk". Got £40 of petrol, went into kiosk, paid on the same card and got 40 points.
So there is a major problem here. The "pay at pump" is NOT giving the amount as what you get in the kiosk.
I spoke to the gentleman inside the kiosk and he said something to do with the "software at the pump" and would inform the engineer.
However, this problem has been happening since the middle of November. I am, still, waiting for a response back from Clubcard since the 16th December, regarding this.0 -
but, cam, is this a good idea. i tend to think that the fact that the credit card, used as a clubcard only, on fuel, in the kiosk, paying 83points on an £83.00 spend (as i have just done) is the anomaly in our favour rather than that fact that it doesnt work at the pump being a problem.
i havent been filling up at Tesco as much as usual, lately, but i am benefiting from 1pt/£....so cheers to those in this thread:T0 -
further, with talk of changes with all Barclaycard Cashback cards...

...i may wind up using Tesco Creditcard as a spending card afterall.
with hindsight, i should have kept the old Black Finest card i had with a £7500 limit:(0
