    My points have come through.

I received my standard 44 points for using my credit card as MOP and Clubcard and then the 11 TPF points, too.
It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.

I've now modified my standard Tesco Clubcard by replacing the standard barcode with a barcode generated from my Tesco Credit Card Clubcard (number). This means that I no longer need to carry my (now expired) Tesco credit card in order to bag the additional fuel points and the card can now be scanned in the usual fashion (- the cc doesn't have a barcode  ).

Also useful for the new Clubcard Fuel Save promotion.

To do this I used Tom McGuinnes's app to generate the new barcode from the cc clubcard number (it's really designed for a smartphone but if you change the extension from '.pkpass' to '.zip' you can then extract the barcode image: 'strip2x.png' ready for printing).
    May help somebody out

    good work Scrounger.

there is a new TescoBank Current Account on the way too, which I assume is going to be helping to generate Clubcard points.

FuelSave is fairly disinteresting, imo. it's going to be a few pounds saved, but just as a result of usual spending.

Clubcard points dont expire (do they?) so i guess it's ok to just stash them away and wait until something we want comes up.

    .

Well as you know they do expire! However you can phone the Tesco freephone and explain that you are saving for a deal rather than spending instore and the nice person on the other end of the phone will cancel those vouchers and issue you new ones for the next mailing. So now they are valid for another 2 years!I found that out because I ordered a deal online and tried to 'overpay' but the website rejected the soon-to-be out of date voucher. So I phoned.......

I use my points for deals.I have bought magazine subscriptions as gifts in the past. I tend to buy ferry crossings with them- last year there was a special x4 boost because the norm is now x3.

What I forgot to say was that the vouchers hadn't yet expired but that they would have done so by next month. I think the key here is to appeal to the clubcard line before they go out of date...... and say that you are saving for....whatever..... In my case it would be a ferry crossing and they could check that is indeed what I have used them for regularly.

It was a result of usual spending, with shopping online at Tesco and using the CC for other purchases, but we filled up our (large) tank when the Fuelsave got to the monthly max, and saved 20p a litre, which was worth doing.

    Hi Scrounger
I tried doing this using the generator on my 2-digit-shorter clubcard number, and neither tills nor the pumps recognised it - said it was an invalid clubcard number. I tried scanning it with my phone, and the number seemed correct (apart from a different prefix).

I then tried prefixing the number with two zeroes and generated a new barcode. This time it scanned OK on a small tester transaction, but it has not turned up in my account - so it must be the wrong number and has gone to someone else.

    What number did you use?
