Hi gwapenut, I too have had problems with this.

That online generator works OK for standard clubcards numbers but not for cc clubcard numbers (which, as you say, are 2 digits shorter).

I've found out that the barcode protocol is: 'code 128' and the standard clubcard the barcode format has a prefix of 979 followed by the last 13 digits of the card number, eg:

    979xxxxxxxxxxxxx

However, I have been unable to discover the correct prefix for the shorter cc number (made more difficult there being no existing barcode to scan in order to read that prefix). It could be as simple as 00979 or 97900 or there could be a checksum involved.

I would still like to solve this problem so have not given up (I've even thought about asking Tesco themselves :rotfl:).

mine too now, Scrounger. my closed Tesco Creditcard is the card i use as a Clubcard nowadays. i 'paid by pump' last night, unusually-as the kiosk was closed, and still generated 1ccp/£ spent.

Yes it was, so its good to know that anomaly has been resolved.

I usually use the kiosk as there are often reduced price groceries on an evening (eg milk and bread).

i go in out of habit.. and never buy anything in the shop.

the anomoly is that a creditcard pays twice the points that a normal clubcard does though, is that right? i quite like the fact that i know they can't mess it up & try to take the payment from the wrong card now;)

    Yes. It's right.

Probably worth 1,000 points a year to me which is enough Avios points to get me halfway to Prague.

good work, and are you using a 'live' Tesco Creditcard as a Clubcard but paying on a different Creditcard?

Yes. And the receipt confirms 1 point per £1 these days. Unlike earlier in the thread. Even using pay at pump.
