Got DH's birthday coming up at the end of the month, so need to get some presents sorted. He's a fan of the Hairy Bikers and he's always after a decent home made curry, so I picked him up their curry book so he can have a go at their recipes, need to think of something else to get him.

That book is fabby, I got it from the book people for a fiver! Lots of choices and varieties, though I really need to use it more often. They even have a selection of low fat curries too!

Well done on the AFD's, even if the cream isn't doing much yet. Try to persevere, and think of the happy dance your liver is doing at having a break from the booze!

Also, I love bolognase, why on earth was OH not too keen on it?! MIL doesn't like mince so when I make bolgnase I send some round for FIL, as he misses not being able to have it!

Hope you are well hun, have a lovely weekend xx
  • Good morning,

Gosh the weekend went quick! Can't believe it's Monday already!!

Confession time....I have a cleaner now...she's a friend of mine who cleans for a living. She's doing an hour every fortnight and as I'm not drinking, its my treat for me as I can keep up with the house much better.

MSE things...I uploaded a lot of stuff on e-bay yesterday...I took the plunge :D and so far a few items have sold. I've only got enough yet to cover fees but hoping much more will go. I've two bin liners full and DH found some more of his to be sold. Anything over the fees will go off the MBNA card.

Got a £2 coin and a 50p over the weekend, so these have been put in their pots.

Checked online banking and all is ok so far.

Won't be a NSD today, as I need to get some brown wrapping paper and a few other things too. Will be a LSD though.

The AFD's are still going on, my friend noted that the cream is making a difference to my skin, she said that the big patch on one side of my mouth is shrinking and the one on the other side has gone. Also I have lost half a stone too :D so down to 11st now :D:D

Well done on the ebaying, AFD's and weight loss!!! You have been a busy bee, since I last managed to get online. You make me feel tired just reading about it...:rotfl:

I'm glad the cream is starting to work, makes it worth the abstinence, and you definitely deserve a treat and 1 hour a fortnight is nothing really!

Hope you are ok hun xx
  • Good afternoon,

Been a bit busy this end, hence the lack of posting.

First lot of E-bay stuff has sold/unsold so what's left will go to the charity shop, then on to the second lot to be sold. I'm doing it this way because I've had stuff hanging around for too long now, so if it doesn't go the first time it's listed, it goes totally.

After fees, Paypal is up to about £40 (depending on whether this last person doesn't ask for a refund). This £40 was due to go off the MBNA card, however DS needs some clothes as do I, so I think I will see what E-bay has to offer and put it to some good use.

DH's birthday on Friday and for once I am organised :D

DH gets paid on Friday too from new company :D He seems to have settled in quite well, so that's a relief. We will be a little bit short money wise as he only started the part way through the month but we should be ok **insert convincing smile here**

My boss goes off sick from Friday, she's having an operation on her shoulder so she'll be off for a few months, which does mean extra money for me as I usually get called to go in at 9am rather than 10am :D

All things account wise seem to be in order, so that's a relief.

Glad to hear hubby has settled in well at his new job, hurrah! Just batten down the hatches, make no unecessary spends where possible and you will scrape through the month!

Happy Birthday to your man for Friday! Here's to a fabulous 2014 for you both :)

Glad to see you're back, I've also been awol due to life getting in the way xx
  • Good morning,

Am I bad person? I really, really wanted a drink last night and felt rather miserable because I can't, well not yet anyway. 8 days and I go back to the Dermatologist, I'm tempted to ask her if there is a different cream she can put me on, so that I can have a drink.

Anyway, 29 AFD's down and sleeping is better.

DH gets paid tomorrow :D and he's not that excited about his birthday, he says that too much has happened over the past few weeks that he's not that interested :( I'm hoping that'll change tomorrow morning.

Two weeks until half term, I really want to go up North and see my mum but as DH pointed out, he's been paid short this month so we can't afford it. We won't be able to do it at Easter as we tend to go see SIL, so it'll be the Summer Holidays before I get to go...I guess it'll give me chance to save up.

Need to try harder with the NSD's, I can see I'm slipping back into my old ways and if that happens, I won't be able to slash the MBNA card like I want to. That'll be my aim for February I think.

Will have a good think, whilst I'm doing the school run about my aims for February and get them jotted down on here so that it gives me something to aim at.
  • Excellent news that hubby has settled well. I hope he has a fab birthday tomorrow.

Well done on all of your AFD's and ebay and everything your doing really well :-)

  • Evening,

Sorry I've been AWOL for the past few days, been rather hectic here to say the least.

DH ended up in hospital on Saturday night :(, we thought he was having a heart attack, thankfully it turns out that he wasn't; they did umpteen tests on him and cannot explain why he had the pain? This resulted in a late night for the kids and no climbing on Sunday for DS as he was too knackered.

Also MiL fell over and dislocated her shoulder on Thursday and is currently with my SiL and my friend's wife is still in hospital, I don't think they'll release her until they have some sort of help in place as my friend is unable to do it all on his own :(

Work is ok and is extra hours so that's something. My boss had her op, turns out that there was something else wrong with her shoulder that they repaired at the same time so she has to have her arm in a sling for 6 weeks before they can do any physio. Poor woman but she did need it done.

Done online banking and updated my spreadsheet, looking at it, it is going to be very tight but hopefully we will scrape through.

I've had to stop using my cream on my face as it has made the skin on my hands break out :( which means I can't use the cream that I have for the Vitiligo on my hands as they are too raw and sore and that cream makes them sting :(:( Good news though is that I go back to see the Derm on Friday and I will ask her if there is any other cream I can try.

As a result of stoppage of face cream, I have been able to have a drink over the weekend, which was lovely but I'm trying not to make a habit of it as I quite enjoyed being AF.

My friend came on Monday to clean and although there are things she misses, it does still help me and for £10 every fortnight, I'm not complaining. She's coming next Monday too and then again the week after the first week back after the Half Term.
  • Morning,

Sorry I've been neglecting my diary over this past few weeks but work has taken over, hoping it'll be in my favour and that I will get just a tad more money than I think I'll get.

Drinking again, granted its not as much as previous but I'm still doing it and I cannot justify having my friend clean for me if I'm still doing this.

Have added more £2, 50p and 20p coins to there respective pots over the past few weeks, trying not to break in to them.

Gas and electric bills have come in, going to have to pay the gas on the CC.

Ok, be back shortly. Need to reread my opening post on this diary and get my head together!

hi - sorry I seemed to have missed your previous post. Glad hubby was ok. Hope MIL is ok now.

Have you seen the dermatologist now since your post? have you managed to get a different cream?
