Thanks Lily, glad it's not just mine, must be the weather.
Had an email from a recruitment agency this afternoon, I sent her my cv ages ago. Any how, it was an update on the job she's put me forward for and will update me next week once she's spoken to her client again. This job is full time though and kids would have to go to a childminder.
Come hell or high water I will get more money this year!!0 -
Happy Saturday

DH has gone to the flying club, as the weather is pants he reckons that there won't be many people flying today and will probably be home early.
He's taken my car, it does need a good run as we tend to use his car more (his is far better than mine and its an automatic and I like his car more lol). Mine has less miles on it than his does so it being used will save the wear and tear on his car.
The kids and I are going to my great-niece's birthday party today, I went to get her a present yesterday and was very tempted to get her a an animal torch; you pressed the handle and the jaws popped open and that's where the light was but I resisted as once the jaws opened it made an animal noise lol I didn't think my nephew would appreciate that one! hee, hee. So bought her a Peppa Pig tea set instead
Right been doing some thinking....Prone to this a lot recently lol I've paid both of the CC's so I know that the totals will have gone down a bit, but I have (I hope) a spare £100 this month that I don't necessarily want to fritter away, what I was thinking was that I will put the £100 in one of the savings accounts and if it doesn't get used by the end of the month I could pay it off the MBNA card??
My other thought was that if it doesn't get used, that could be the restart of my 'pots' that I've used up and to try and add £100 every month?? That way all my pots will be back to where they were at the start of the year.
I do want to pay off the MBNA card but I also need to get the pots built back up again so that we're in a better position this time next year....decisions, decisions!!!!!
Moving on from that dilemma, I need to go to Tesco's this morning to do a top up shop. Not aiming to spend loads but there are things we need, so will work out a list and make sure we only get what is on the list.0 -
Okay done it.
£100 transferred and split between two of the pots.
Checked the CC's and signature updated, only £350 to go and MBNA card will hit a nice round £11K.0 -
So things aren't going quite as well as they should be, due to many factors, that I won't go in to on here. 2014 will perhaps not be our year after all, so will need to reassess and put some sort of damage limitation in place to stop things getting ANY worse.
Total owed on the CC's: £14,774.20 it was going down but that's a separate issue.
So not sure how we're going to get out of this hole but we are nearly half way through the year and nothing has changed.
DH earns more now that he's ever done and we are still sinking! Something has to change and change rapidly or things will be even worse come Christmas.
So I've had a month off since my last post and now payday for both of us is here (me tomorrow and DH Friday) time to take stock and try again for the umpteenth time this year.
Things done this week, so far:
Finances sorted out for June.
Menu plan for June sorted.
Food order placed.
Changed Home Insurance for a cheaper one, saving £30pm
Waiting to see if the gas/electric bill will be high or not, if so then they're gone too.
So....I'm fed up of using so....instead....Okay? I like Okay...it's a bit more positive.
Okay, will see how we get on this time.
It's Half Term this week so I'm trying to not dwell on things too much.0 -
Hi PMO2,
Glad to see you back, I've only just come back after a few month hiatus, during which I lost my way a bit, putting more money on the dreaded CC! I've now done a BT, so all my debt is at 0%, and I'm determined to rein in my spending and put more of money towards the debts.
Sorry to hear you are having a tough time at the moment, I really hope things improve for you. Renewing your house insurance and saving £30 a month is a great start, that's £30 extra a month you can put towards your CC payments!
I'm also still on the get fit kick and trying to shift the weight, I've kind of plateaued, which when I still have 1.5 stone to lose aint good! Just got home from kettlecise, which was a killer! It hurts just to stand up! :rotfl:
Don't be a stranger hun, we can help motivate each other!

Good morning,
Eyebright - Thanks hun x
I got paid today which is a good thing, MBNA has been paid
tried to pay the BC but the website wouldn't let me so will have to try again later.
First payment for the home insurance has come out
it's nice that it isn't a huge payment.
Have sort of done my spreadsheet for the month but can't do any more until DH gets paid tomorrow and I know how much is in the account. I can then try and make sure that the damage is limited.
Feeling a bit more positive today and a bit more back on track.
DS's 10th birthday is this month but his party is next month, he left it too late to decide what he wanted. He has asked for me to make him a Minecraft cake for his party....gulp!
Off to buy the kids some much needed pyjama's today, they've both grown so much that the old ones are too short for them. To be fair they've not had anything new for a long time, so I think they are in need of them.
Still saving 20p's, 50p's and £2 coins as well as the odd bit of shrapnel. If nothing else, we will have a bloody good Christmas!!!
Talking of Christmas I think I've nearly sorted everyone, apart from DH and the kids.
Off to read and catch up on some diaries, haven't done that for a long time.
Have a good day everyone, will update once I've been shopping.0 -
Back again, not such a LSD as predicted earlier but a good day nonetheless.
Kids pyjamas bought, took them around the charity shops and got fleeced for two tops and two books each by them both. On the upside I have some books and a DVD I've been after for ages.
I'm going to make more of an effort to cut down my drinking and I think if I have books that I enjoy reading, this will help as I tend to get engrossed in the story and ignore the world around me lol
Just spoke to DH and one of the sites his boss is involved in is based in Wimbledon, any how they're after an Admin assistant to help on the job and he's put my CV across...eeekkkk!!!! initially it will only be for about 6 months, based on how long the job is due to run for but if I impress them, I could get moved after to a hotel job that they're due to start, which could then end up as a permanent job...that is IF I get the job.....keeping everything crossed!!!!!!0 -
Everything crossed on the job front hun! That would be fantastic

I'm also determined that Christmas will not make me stressed and miserable about money this year. I'm amassing a nice pot of shrapnel too, and although I've bought no presents yet I have a pot of money that I'm saving in readiness to buy them!
I'm glad to hear you are feeling a bit more positive, and kiddies need treats every now and then. Have a good day xx0 -
Morning EB, I'm the same about Christmas; I was determined this year that I would be organised after last year x0

Morning Diary,
Yippee!!! It's Friday and DH's pay day...when it finally goes in the bank that is lol
Any how, food order from Asda should arrive between 8-10am, it'll be good to have some food in and I can then see what else I need to get from Tesco's later. I'm determined that we will stick to the meal plan this month and I will not overspend on that.
Need to drop a prescription off at the Dtr's for DH and pick up his suit from the dry cleaners. Kids want to go to the park in the next town so they can use the skatepark, so I've made them a deal that if they help me put the shopping away when it gets here then I will take them.
Off to see my niece and nephew and their children tomorrow, my SiL and BiL (my nephews parents) will be there too so that'll be a good time, all the kids play together and us adults feel free lol.
Forgot yesterday, I did the ironing....I hate it with a vengeance so glad that I got it out of the way and as the kids only have a four day week next week (Monday inset day) I won't have as much washing to do.
Aiming for a LSD today, only getting what I need to get. Lets see if I can make sure that we scrape through June intact.
Have a good day everyone xx0
