hi - sorry I seemed to have missed your previous post. Glad hubby was ok. Hope MIL is ok now.
Have you seen the dermatologist now since your post? have you managed to get a different cream?
MIL has managed to get a hairline fracture on her shoulder at the same time as dislocating it but she's ok and seems very chipper to talk to.
Have been back to the dermatologist and I've still to use the cream she gave me, I can use it on the three big patches I have on my left leg and go back to see her in May. I asked about the not drinking whilst on the cream and she said she can see no reason why not?
She gave me some Aqueous cream to use on my hands as well as using the other cream I have for them. The aqueous stuff is to counter act the reaction I'm having from using the one on my face and the hand one. Don't think it'll work but got to try I guess.0 -
Back again, have taken stock and pulled my tired behind back in to line.
Have checked the CC's and the MBNA one has gone down by £322.20 since December, which is not much in my view and I need to get it down considerably more than that before we hit June.
Total owed on the CC's: £13440.64, which isn't really going down as the BC is being used for some bits every month but at the moment I'm not worried about it, just want to get the MBNA one down enough that I can then transfer it over to the BC and get rid of it.
Half term has started....Yippeee!!!!
Ds's teacher has resigned, she was brought in on Maternity cover and if I'm honest she was useless and didn't seem to know how to handle his class. Ds has had a supply teacher for the past few weeks and she was wonderful with the class and Ds was happier to go in to school/class. When they go back after half term he will unfortunately have a different teacher.
DD however has yet another sodding project to do!
Other things MSE wise, I've joined a lovely group on FB called 'Fill My Family On A Budget' and they've got some lovely ideas and ways to help you cut down and budget. Only been a member for a few weeks but am slightly addicted to the group lol.
Plan for Half Term:
Bulk cooking and freezing
Cleaning and tidying kids rooms
Go to London to visit DH on site and have a look around the museums whilst we are there ~ aiming that this is the only BIG spend this half term.
Baking with the kids
Menu plan and shopping plan for the remainder of the month
Due to work I don't have time to upload any of the kids clothes to Ebay or FB so am going to take them to the charity shop at least then we'll have some room.0 -
I stand corrected, the joint CC debt has gone down. In December the total was £13517.89 and now it is £13440.64, so it has decreased by a whopping £77.23

Good morning,
Hope everyone that was off for the Half Term had a good one and those that weren't had an easy week at work.
Back to work for me and again early starts too, so more money again

Had a peaceful but busy week last week and managed to catch up with most of the housework that I've been neglecting...the fridge was worse than I thought!
Anyway, February has been a busy spendy month and I need to make sure that March isn't. So I'm starting with this week so it eases me in to March prepared.
I get paid on Thursday and DH gets paid on Friday
, we have £72 left in the bank to last us til Thursday. I have a few bits that I need to get shopping wise and will need to buy DH some Nicorette gum.
My pots are building up nicely and I'm unsure what to do with them, I know I need to put them to good purpose but am tempted to see how much I can build them up to first before I bank them?
Money things to be paid once payday arrives is the gas/electric bills, we were expecting a huge amount but £400 is quite reasonable for us for Winter so will need to factor this in come the end of the week.
Right aiming for a NSD today and an AFD too, got a renewed enthusiasm to kick butt!
Back later x0 -
Good morning,
Managed to have a NSD yesterday
but not a AFD
Grrrr! Only myself to blame and not happy about it. Hate feeling bleurgh in the morning and it is because of the alcohol.
MUST TRY HARDER! WILL TRY HARDER!
DH applied for self assessment last week and has to deregister for CB as he earns too much...to me its not right, we've both paid in to the system and surely both our children are entitled to it.
Moving on.....DS got picked for a football match for the school, this is on Wednesday, so busy day that day!
Did a small Tesco shop yesterday and still managed to forget some bits...Doh! so will need to go back again. Need to put in some petrol in the car too.
Aiming for a NSD today, which should be easy to do.
Right off to get sorted.0 -
Morning,
Payday for me today
so have made payments to both CC's. That gives me a bit of breathing space until next month.
Not had DH's payslip yet so unsure what he'll get paid this month, he's had his new coding notice through so he 'should' get more than worked out previously.
Once I have the amount I can then work out the finances for March and hopefully be able to pay an extra amount off the MBNA card.
Got to get my act together and try and shift some of this weight, I tend to comfort eat when the weather is poo and I need to stop doing that.
Gas and Electric bills need paying tomorrow once DH has been paid...must remember to do them as its been nearly two weeks since they came through.
So March Aims:
Loose weight
Stop drinking again
NSD's
We have the car taxes due at the end of March, so I cannot afford to mess up.
NSD's this week have been going ok, I've tried hard to resist spending anything, so hopefully this will carry on next month.0 -
Good morning,
Well March is here and it is my birthday month
DH got paid yesterday and I made a mistake, his new coding notice doesn't come into effect until April...still he got more this month than last month
Credit cards have been paid and my signature duly updated, pleased with how the MBNA is going down. We are currently £222.71 away from £13k, when the payments come out next month we should hit this one.
On another note, didn't have a NSD yesterday, it was the kids school's quiz night (parents only) and my team came 6th, was a good night but spent some money.
Potted a £2 coin and a few 20p's so those stashes are building up nicely.
Have a nice weekend everyone x0 -
Good morning diary,
Feeling a bit bad this morning as I've not had chance to catch up with other peoples diaries, I must make a mental note to do this at some stage.
AFD and NSD number 1 achieved yesterday.....Yay! Go me
lol
As an excuse for my AFD's, I've said to DH that I'm on a diet...to be honest I'm not telling a white lie as such as I 'do' need to shift some weight. Plus that NSD's will also help as I'm not spending on crap at Tesco, I'm made a promise to myself that Tesco is only for top up shops and nothing else.
Have checked online banking and updated my spreadsheet accordingly. This month is going to be as tight as last month, something I'm not happy about but determined that we will scrape through.
Once we get this month out of the way, the next few months should be fairly easy ones.
I'm waiting for the Council Tax bill and the Water Rates to come through, my aim this year is to have enough saved that come this time next year I can pay the Water Rates off in one go and hopefully half or even better all of the Council Tax bill.
Spoke to my lovely mum yesterday and asked her what I could get her BF for Christmas and she said he likes doing jigsaw puzzles, so I said I get him one of those. Going to do a 'hunt' and see if I can pick a cheap one up for him. Apart from MiL, that'll be all the family done
Right off to get organised and get the kids to school.0 -
Morning diary,
I hate not having as much time to write in my diary, work life is taking over! Talking to my boss yesterday, she will be off work for the next four months, she has only just started the physio and she is no where near ready to come back.
Still it is extra money and I am enjoying the job so far.
So where has March left us? Still very much in debt and severely lacking money! We tried and failed to scrape through intact, many factors involved. So here we go again to try and get through April!
Is it me or is this year flying by???
Anyway First monthly food order is due tomorrow, I say first because for the past few months I have bought weekly or as and when we need it, which in all honesty probably hasn't helped matters. I still need to buy other foody bits to top up the shopping, but will try and keep it to a minimum.
On the upside, one week to go before the end of term. Spent most of this week and the end of last week ill with the flu, so I'm looking forward to a bit of a break.
So plodding onwards again to April, I will try and update a bit more.0 -
Good morning

Feeling really tired today, woke up in the early hours worrying because I forgot to order potatoes and the last order gets delivered today. Will have to see if any of the other kitchens can lend us some.
DH's coding notice came through and he is expected to get more money per month than before
as a consequence we should be able to put some money in the savings and I can build up my pots again. I have DH's school trip to pay for (£210!!!) and I want to pay off the water rates over the next few months.
I am determined that we will pay off half or more of the MBNA card and the extra money per month will help with that
I'm still keeping track of the account and am updating my spreadsheet accordingly.
In other news, I've applied for a cooks job at one of the other schools, its a smallish school and isn't too far from me and would be ideal if I get it...it would be set hours and would equate to more money per month than what I'm on now. The only thing that worries me is that the infants all get free meals in September so would mean a lot more meals to cook.
May be, just may be, this will be our year
