  • Interesting - do UKCPS normally break the Data Protection Act with such a cavalier attitude ? A company can only hold onto personal data - such as a registration number - if there is a legitimate reason to do so. I wonder what reason they think there is in this circumstance ?

ill wait till I get a letter clearing me of a fine then ill ring them and ask them ;)

Yes in some way morals are a bad thing as you put your own personal feelings before advice, which is in effect judging people! What makes you qualified to judge someone on here?

And saying I condone this is insulting , and you deciding what we should advise is frankly absurd, would you go on the bankruptcy forum telling people they shouldn't have spent money, so are not worthy of advice?

This is an advice website first and foremost, if someone comes here and ask for help, then help is what they get! If you can't see the point of this, then why come to this forum? Is your sole reason for being here to pass on your judgement, and to criticise the people helping here?

If it is, then you as I said above are no better than the parking companies!

So having morals is now a bad thing?
Think we will have to agree to differ on that one.
I do doubt that the MSE stands for savings money etc when it is at the expense and inconvenience of the more vulnerable members of society.

By giving advice on how to avoid the penalties, you are indirectly condoning the behaviour.

I have only queried this when a poster has admitted that they knowingly use disabled bays whilst being able bodied.

THEY ARE NOT PENALTIES - COMPANIES CAN'T ISSUE PENALTIES AGAINST INDIVIDUALS !!!!!!!!!!

Come on, you should know this with your post count ? Or are you fishing ?

Mr XXXXX, I believe you have acknowledged that you were parked in a bay reserved for disabled badge holders and the signage we have erected clearly states that persons parking in such bays without a legitimate badge may be issued with a penalty. You do not have a disabled badge and our client is well within their rights to ask UKCPS to follow this course of action and ordinarily the payment penalty would be pursued. However, I have on this occasion been asked to waive the penalty and you should hear from UKCPS shortly.
We hope you continue to shop at Ravenhead Retail Park but as your registration details will be retained by the UKCPS database, I strongly suggest that you follow the guidance on the signage in future.
    Regards

Not allowed - surely a breach of the ICO registration? They have no legitimate cause to store this data now. Complain to the BPA using Steve Clark's email and a copy to the DVLA using David Dunford's email (in the sticky threads). No phone calls, keep a paper trail.

Is this slightly stroppy missive from Peter Haswell? He or the Managing agent has called it a payment penalty! Classic, keep that email!!!!

At no time have I seen you offering any advice here! So I ask again what is your purpose here?

No I would not as bankruptcy does not tend to cause problems for entirely innocent people trying to go about their business.
If someone started a thread asking for advice on how to get out of paying money they owed to another person, I would not wish to help them though as I think it is a wrong (and dare I say immoral) thing to do.

    But each to their own.

As far as I can tell, you have at no point mentioned to the OP that maybe he should refrain from using disabled bays in the future.

Can you point us in the direction of ANY piece of helpful advice you've provided on this forum? If not, I don't think anyone finds you welcome here, so time to:

Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Hopefully to disuade able bodied people from using spaces reserved for those with disabilities. Is that such a bad thing?

I have the same agenda here, always have...but that's the only similarity!

    What no apology then?

And by the way we advise on here about disability issues in car parks, and have been for years! We rightly tell people off for using disabled bays, and we leave it at that, we cannot force people to abide, and we do not discriminate in our advice to them. But you by your comments want us to do exactly that!

im 100% against not using the bays so that the people who need them can use them but at 3.45 on a sunday b&q car park ? if there was a sudden rush of 30 or so disable led people wanting to all get into b&q at closing time then I guess it would of been a problem..... but whats the chances of that happening?

    You miss the point.

If a shoplifter who stole some low value item was sentenced to 30 years incarceration, you could help them appeal the sentence without condoning the crime.

That is what we try to do here.
