I was wondering if you might be able to find something like this more locally for ds over the long holiday? http://www.veggiekitchen.co.uk/classes.php. To help support his interest in vegetarian cuisine and stimulate his appetite for variety?

I used a park and ride today because I'd been there before and used it .... and I knew it was painless and you don't have to worry about car parks being full, where they are, finding them again, how long you're taking and how much that'll be etc.... £2.50. It's 1.5 miles from the centre.

Having said that, I waited 20 minutes for the return bus, which then took 10-12 minutes to make the journey as it was waiting for lighrts or at a roundabout most of the time.

However, in Cambridge the convenience is more than worth the wait.

If it's not an option (and Westminster is the same), I actually find it cheaper to get a parking fine than pay to park. I do, however, have a driveway in Westminster I'm allowed to use (owners permission) now!

Pulled into the car park at 6:00 and walked through the door of the after school club at 6:02, so not too bad. Haven't stopped to draw breath since, though - delivering DD somewhere, spending time with DS while DD was out, and two long phone calls with friends who, er, had a lot on their minds (with good reason). Glad to have had a lovely day out, with a delightful lunch, and not to have had to do all the driving. :)

I had a day like that yesterday. We're trying to get the final bits done now, so I can leave the office at about 2pm on Friday (I'm on 4am starts this week) and not have to worry about anything. Events are running until Monday night (mainly weekend spillover), and I've offered them double pay between 27th and 4th (2am on 5th), as this is the first year we've really needed the work done over New Year.

Only working until 9 this morning, as I have other things to do today.

I'll be quiet and crack on :)

Best wishes to you viva, it sounds as promising as these things can do.

    Woofs to big dog, lir.

Fleeting visit from me as I have come into work to sort a few things out. The doctor said on Sunday that she thinks Mr Bugs has only a few days left, certainly doesn't expect him to be alive at the weekend. He's actually quite comfortable as he's morphine and a mild sedative, so he's mostly sleeping. Still think that dogs get a better deal, at this point though.

I hope you take comfort that you have made this journey for him as comfortable as you possibly could.

    Thinking of you.

    Oh Bugslet.

Sometimes it seems inconceivable the world keeps turning. I hope the few days are swift for him and comfortable.

Last night I fell asleep early. It feels amazing to wake up properly rested. I imagine this is what people without dogs feel like often!

Well, last night was something different, couldn't sleep for ages, came down stairs and watched the cats mouse.....( oh too awful, indeed, we have mice) then went back up again and then woke to the sound of a distant alarm or something, couldn't work out what for, wasn't here, wasn't on the next door farm.......

    There is so
Much I should be doing and instead I've filled in a claim form and am lounging. Yawn.......right, I better go and put clothes on, I'll have to nip form over to vets soon.

*hugs*, such a tough time. It's worse on those left behind. I hope he either doesn't know what's going on, or is at peace and not in pain. It's not a conversation you can have with them, so you turn up, trying to be cheerful and a 'good visitor', yet you can't ask them "You do know what's going on, you've not got long...." and they never ask either .

    :(

I think, even at the end, my dad thought he'd be coming home.... yet he refused to eat; refused by saying "I refuse" when the chef visited ... and it's heartbreaking trying to convince them they have to at least eat. And you don't really know when ... and have to keep that cheerful outer switched on.

    :(

    All the best.

We do think of you many times/day.

That's all I would want when my time comes, to be comfortable and gently drift out of life, with a loved one by my side. You have done all that anybody could expect/hope from you. I feel so sorry for you having to stand by whilst this slowly takes its course, though. I wish I could give you a real hug, not just a virtual one.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Yes, I think the distance at times like this is hard. But also, knowing that we can chat and pick up a message most times of day is pretty good, knowing one of us will be here for bugslet's/FC/viva whoever is good.

Have to say, that first big np meet up at my house when I was so worried really helped me. I felt very 'nurtured' while i felt so stupid and it was so relaxed and fun.

It was joyous to know people were as lovely or lovelier in real life. Unbelievable really.
