They look lovely - did they smell faintly of oranges, too?
There was nothing "faintly" about the smell of them.... it was strong and gorgeous. REALLY strong. It was a smell that smacked you, from a distance. You smelt them before you saw them.

Not sure what it smelt of though, I'm not good with naming smells, but they smelt of what's in them... whatever that is :)

LIR - I note the website says Pumpino ... so I think the guy lied to cover up the fact he'd forgotten what they were ... and pomegranate was the only thing he could think of that began with a "P" Pumpino peppers.

Hope Lydia got back in time for the sunshine kid.

Pulled into the car park at 6:00 and walked through the door of the after school club at 6:02, so not too bad. Haven't stopped to draw breath since, though - delivering DD somewhere, spending time with DS while DD was out, and two long phone calls with friends who, er, had a lot on their minds (with good reason). Glad to have had a lovely day out, with a delightful lunch, and not to have had to do all the driving. :)

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.
    :)

So sorry to hear about Big Dog. :(

I've had a crap day but that pales into insignificance beside news about a beloved pet or family member.

Meh, I think things balance out woe wise. E.g. I don't compare big dog with what FC and bugslet's are going through, they are different things.

Bad stuff stinks what ever it is. Lets kick it!

Sorry to hear about big dog lir. She's a lovely dog. Reminds me of Nana in her size and character if not breed.

I've had some better news today. Spoke to hospital and asked them about initial tests. Hope is that it is benign but either way it looks like they've caught it really early. Will have a biopsy later this week, only problem is that I definitely won't get results until after Christmas.
Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

OH knows him, from their time together in India, teaching English, I think. Certainly sounds a familiar name, I'll ask him tomorrow. OH gave blood today, so he's having an early night.

He did teach English in India, in Darjeeling by the look of it. It would be way too big a coincidence for two Benedict Cumberbatches to have taught English in India I think:)

Our thoughts are with you Viva, the not knowing must be so hard. Are you going to be anywhere local over the holiday period to say hi?
    I think....
  • Must be the same bloke, OH taught English in Darjeeling, too. WEll, in a village 5 miles outside Darjeeling, anyway.

On a lighter(?) note, in Morrisons today in the yellow stickers was a Tirimasu reduced to 65p from 4.99 so we couldn't say no - unfortunately the kids could, they haven't had it before and decided it wasn't their thing, DW didn't help out and I have this thing about not throwing food away (another throw back from my very skinny upbringing?) so I ended up eating about three quarters...I don't feel that well now....
    I think....
