I popped into town yesterday, had to check my email so used the library. Evesdropped into an interesting conversation... the person who used the computer had forgotten the password to paypal and was asking their boyfriend what it was.

I'd never use paypal in a library; I'd never ask someone else in public what the password was. Have these people not heard of key-loggers and eavesdroppers?

And their password was appalling too.

Unbelievably common I'm afraid (I mean the occurrence, not the people).

're books, unless you can get your hands on some decent crates, the tricks with books is to use smaller boxes than you would for other stuff. Try to keep to a max weight of 10kgs if using cardboard and make sure you don't buy the cheap packing tape that has the sticking power of post it notes. Boxing up books is one of my specialist subjects:o

This has already been discussed! Small boxes, but lots of em!
I know someone who works at a large confectionery retailer ;) who should be able to acquire boxes. I'm hoping to get some this week, to get started. I'm dreading him making me wait til the weekend.

It's a bad idea to use a former postcode, for hackers can find out where you lived...

    Our conversations go,

What is the password to X

    The usual one

    with the number or without

    mine or yours

    oh you mean xxxxx#xxxx

and blurts out the whole thing.

My number plates are for cars I had over 20 years ago, and I join them together, so you would need a hacker willing to go into the depths of the DVLAs legacy systems for cars that have been long scrapped to work it out.

I can't remember any number plates before we got the personalised plates 10 years ago.

I'm just thinking of Prince Charles doing this. HRH1HRH2 - completely unguessable password.

Whereas numberplates are my raison d'etre, I could tell you Mr Bugs VRNs from when we first stepped out and my old boss's 2 VRNs - bear in mind I've been self-employed since 1991. As for truck regs........:o

I'd go for a posh alert there. Frankly, anyone who has numberplates - note the s - is posh. Except bugslet, who has an excuse. Personalised numberplates is going too far.

You have to come up with 40th birthday present ideas that are:

    a) a present ie something you wouldn't buy yourself

    b) tangible

For clarity the plural of numberplates is because there is one each.

BTW they don't match, because that would be naff.
