Dog dog almost ate a jack Russell at the vets. I was somewhat embarrassed but it was very noisy, she had a point.

I feel 'wrong' without her here! At home big dog is on her bed happily but kiwi is unsettled.

That's a point, I remember quite an old postcode before all others.

It's a bad idea to use a former postcode, for hackers can find out where you lived...

I popped into town yesterday, had to check my email so used the library. Evesdropped into an interesting conversation... the person who used the computer had forgotten the password to paypal and was asking their boyfriend what it was.

I'd never use paypal in a library; I'd never ask someone else in public what the password was. Have these people not heard of key-loggers and eavesdroppers?

And their password was appalling too.

Chewy - again from last years reading, and I might have remembered the wrong bank, but I think HSBC don't do AIPs at all? Taking the fee is probably a good sign. Halifax did a credit check when I applied properly (not AIP), then (same phone call) validation fee was taken and I was told verbally that the mortgage was approved subject to valuation. I believe I was probably credit checked again just before the mortgage money was sent to the solicitors, just to make sure I'd not gone crazy with the credit cards etc.

I dunno! I think HSBC do because I had a meeting with them last year and they offered to credit check me and give me a MIP which I didn't want at the time. The FD bloke kept referring to an agreement in principle but half the time he said he wasn't giving one and the rest of the time he seemed to imply he was. I was too tired to care by the end of the call and I just wanted to get off the phone and eat my dinner!

Beginning to think the number plate is not a good idea, too easy for a hacker to stroll past while your car is parked outside.

We once got burgled because my handbag was stolen at work in central London and I had address labels in my handbag. They traveled to my home to use the keys to enter the house. We assume they couldn't drive because my car keys were also in my handbag and the car parked outside the house.

Car number plates, if for former cars, can work as passwords...

It's pretty easy to find out where you used to live, it's much harder to find out what car you used to drive.

I think Gen's suggestion is the best password strategy, but I would vary it by saying rude phrases.

Santalovedrudolph is quite hard to guess for a computer, and quite easy to remember.

I have just changed all the security details on my bank account. I've got rid of all the familiar stuff. So, the place of my birth has now transferred to a completely different place, for example. Luckily, so I won't forget all this random new information, I wrote it all down.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

I am always cold in the mornings so I bought a fleece onesie with Minnie mouse on. It is supremely shapeless, too wide and unflattering. (Mr BD didn't bat an eyelid when I put it on which makes me wonder what I usually look like :)) But it keeps me warm - although next time I will buy one with a higher collar - I've got a scarf on too. I don't usually get dressed in day clothes until about 11am so the onesie will provide some entertainment when I get parcel deliveries.......

lemonjelly our mortgage package included a free homebuyers survey but I paid for a local surveyor to do a survey for us. I wanted someone who had a local reputation to maintain and who knew the area well. As a result of survey I had the confidence to negotiate down the AP by £6k. As LIR may recall the survey we had on a wonderful property last year was worth every penny. The property turned out to be non standard construction - it went back on the market for nearly £100k less. We pulled out with great regret - the property was ideal.

SingleSue  to you from our little patch of Greater Herts - it's lovely and sunny here today, hope it is sunny for you too.

Lovely and sunny here too....which part of Suffolk are you from? Upper or lower (trying to be a bit cryptic here :rotfl:)
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

    Ok, not funny.

Kiwi has really realised the connection between terriers and ground and digging now. He's just come in absolutely black only his sharp white teeth and naughty amber eyes glowing.

I'm staying really close to the phone because they said dog dog would be finished by lunch time, this is offering me the opportunity to enjoy watching the bird feeder, which we moved at the weekend from the north side of the cheese room to the back garden. This has not put the birds off one little bit. They have chomped through three fats balls completely this morning and have some still on the go.

Spent an hour on the phone to FD this evening which seemed to consist mostly of repeating everything that I put in the online application whilst reading out warnings from a script every 2 minutes - that's modern retail banking for you I suppose. I'm not too sure where we are now - they seemed to credit check us then agree that we could borrow, in theory, what we were asking for, then took the payment for the booking fee, but then said it wasn't an AIP... I am not convinced the person I spoke to knew what was going on to be honest but I suppose I will find out when they send the paperwork through...

    Seems a bit weird?
I went through a broker, rather than direct to anyone. Partially as I wanted a better look across the market, but also because I really haven't a clue what I'm doing & have different circumstances!

The broker wanted to run a credit check on me, as I have no debt, very little debt history, phone is payg, bills aren't in my name etc. I do have an excess of current accounts though, so he wanted to check for any nasty surprises. It was all no problem, & he printed off what I assume is an AIP (I've sent it to the EA anyway!)

The broker did say to me at the end of the meeting that he'd never met anyone in the position I'm in!:o
It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.
