Sorry no, no and I live in Suffolk
Just browsing back a bit chewmylegoff we got a mortgage through FD last year. Was very useful being able to ring up and not have to go through a call centre and FD staff knowledgeable and helpful. The only hiccup was that they decided to 'review' the mortgage offer between exchange and completion. Goodness knows why but did manage to get it sorted in time.
Was on YouGov earlier and they had a survey about which countries should be able to join the EU - including Morocco, Kazakhstan and Israel. I am wondering if Europe has been redefined while I wasn't looking
Yippe! Finally someone from my part of Greater Herts!
Welcome to the thread Better DaysWe made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -

Solicitors advise they can get surveys done (not just valuation survey). Am I better to go with them or engaging my own?
Will be speaking with broker tomorrow to get that ball rolling.
I want to start packing now...
I have 2 daleks. Both brimming full. I want to take them so am not looking forward to emptying them...:o
I'm sure you've understood right, but just in case - they don't mean the local govt/ is the house built on a mine/ flooding type surveys do they? That said, I'm sure if you're using a local solicitor (I didn't), I'm sure they'll have a pet surveyor.
From what I read, the main thing people said was that it was often a better idea not to use the bank's surveyor - means paying for two people to visit, but usually if the bank just have to schedule in a valuation it would often happen sooner, and you're not stuck with their panel surveyor if they are a bit rubbish (there are a few names which seem to crop up on the Mortages board).
I ended up picking mine via google. He was ok, there were perhaps a couple of things he should have mentioned (he couldn't really have missed them!).
I was pretty good at not packing in my head - but I didn't have that much stuff over here to move. And I am the same person who didn't tell many people about her new job in case it fell throughI generally take planning for the worst a little too far!

This thread feels a bit like Dr Who - bigger on the inside than on the outside, parellel universes, alternate realities but not quite so much running around, however I've seen no Dalek's ..... so far
Stick around.
A few months ago under the influence of strong painkillers I was hallucinating and saw a dalek in our local coop. After a couple of stares it morphed into a cylindrical display stand full of wine bottles.0 -
The accountancy joke book has gone out to the recycling. I hope no one was waiting for another joke?Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
