I visited Berlin just after the wall fell, and there were train tickets being offered to vist Konigserg or Kaliningrad. The whole East/West boundary wa opening up. The two halves of Berlin were weirdly different.
While me and my mate were there, there was an attempted coup in Moscow. The train we were taking back to London arrived from Moscow full of Aussie backpackers who looked like the most relieved people on the world to have got out before the borders closed! There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -
I love dog dog so much. She was so good to
Bath, She had her watery quite as warm as we can get it and relished in it, and sat in the water as it pooled around her, she leant into our hands with approval as we massaged the shampoo into her and stood obediently while we dried her. Every now and then we tell her she is shiny now, or smells god and we get a flick of the whippy tail or a wink and a nod.
She really is a delight to live with at times. So much lovlier than bathing a moaning kiwi!0 -

DW took me to the Freud Museum this afternoon. On a couch there was a sign reading:This is the couch on which Sigmund Freud died.
Please do not sit on the couch! No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
I had vegetable juice for supper and we made a dismal failure of popcorn for DH. It was meant to be peanut butter flavoured coated recipe from Internet. Its now chocolate coated with peanut toffee chunks in it.
We even tried to use the microwave in the bedroom at one point. Hmmmm. I made a burnt pudding shaped sort of....thing.
DH is going to be eating popcorn all week.
The veg juice was delicious.. I just cannot believe I went so long without raw veg.

Oh has gone off to Manchester, crossly, as it's 95% likely the case will settle, and he will either know tonight he's had a wasted journey, and a wasted weekend prepping the case, or find out first thing tomorrow....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0
