Day not got off to a good start, the brake failed on my car and I've rolled (very slowly) into someone's car
He was very good about it. His bumper was scraped very slightly, and that's about it, but I've given him my details. There's a bit of a dent in my bonnet too.
I've reported it to my insurers so we'll just have to see what the damage is. The excess on my policy is £800
The thing I'm most annoyed about is losing my no claims bonus. That'll probably cost me more than the damage to the cars.
If the damage is less than £800 you can settle it by paying directly.
H has done the same. £234 of invisible damage to the other car.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

So if it costs less than £800 it won't affect my no claims?
That's very good news if so!!“I could see that, if not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled.” - P.G. Wodehouse0 -

It will be very hard, but you have to try and ignore these other people as best as possible. Do we know what position they are in? This is not FTB territory up here and extending downstairs costs hard cash - minimum £30k which I don't believe will reflect in a profitable increase in value. If there are people in a similar position to you then I would be very surprised. Nobody needs sight of an AIP to consider an offer - is this something the EA has asked for?
You need to push the sizeable deposit, lack of chain and keep your offer where you were going to. I would make it quickly though.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

My insurers have been notified (his insurance claims are always on my car and my insurance somehow) but the other insurer are happy for him to pay the bill directly.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Thanks
I've done a bit of googling and it seems to be the case.
I'm a bit clueless on this sort of thing tbh. They're calling me back tomorrow so I'll try to clarify it all with them.“I could see that, if not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled.” - P.G. Wodehouse0 -

He indeed has no trouble whatsoever....and neither do I!We made it! I think it boils down to a key question. Is it THIS house or time for a house now. Its easy to get swept up in the 'this house' thing. DH did it every one. Its also something people know in negotiation even when no other buyers are involved.
If other buyers a interested at this sort of price, than, chances are its not bad price....you and doozers are best placed to look at that really. But I'd consider looking at what else you max budget in max mile radius would get you and see how you feel after doing that.0 -

The offer was made irrespective doozer! I did push the deposit/could complete in 8 weeks point too.
I know little about the other party. EA implied an asian household who are looking to enlarge the downstairs area.
My thinking is they'll need that money on top of their mortgage, which may help me.
I'm not sure why the other potential buyer is taking their AIP into the EA today, unless they're looking for a quick completion too? EA did say they would call me back when they've been in this afternoon to confirm if they have outbid me. I suspect that they'll be hoping I up.
I hope I chose well! Medicinal!:DIt's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -
I've somehow hurt my right elbow, not a clue what I have done though. Initially I thought I had just slept funny and with a little time and some bending and stretching of it, it would be just fine but hours later, I still cannot bend it properly without it hurting like a begger and any pressure on the joint and it bloody hurts, like it is badly bruised.
I do so hope it is not the start of arthritis in my elbow, it's my crutch side (although thankfully, not my dominant side) and I would be completely beggered if that started being a problem. That said, with arthritis pretty much in all the other joints, it was only a question of time, especially bearing in mind how hypermobile my elbows are and have always been.We made it!
