Hang out around Rue St Denis in the 2e from about 4pm 'til midnight. You'll learn a lot about what men like in women.
The first thing I learnt was that I wasn't the only man who didn't lust after stick insects. IME there are as many beautiful women as there are women, pretty much. I saw some very unlikely prostitutes doing some very good business.
When I went to Paris mid last year, friends had an amazing apartment in the second aerondissment except it was just off rue st denis. and we kept playing guess the h00ker.0 -
I used to work in a red light area (Soho 1980s).
That wasn't my trade mind.
I got to meet prostitutes and found out they were real people. Generally a little on the gritty side, but often with a wicked sense of humour.
The only prostitute I know now is not beautiful in the conventional sense, but does very well out of a specific market niche. Goes to show that even in the oldest profession in the world, rules of marketing apply. If you can't appeal to the masses, carve a niche that gives you a dedicated user base. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? It's not so hard round there! I was surprised to be playing that game in one of the very nice hotels in Sydney a couple of weeks ago. Would have considered itself above that a few years back.
Oh well, times change.0 -

. There is definitely a different type of chat up at different sizes, which is also odd. A sort of change in approach and type of approaches and approacher.
I also find it funny the things men find endearing. DH loves it when I have chipped toe nail polish. Something to do with vulnerable, unpolished, not presented for the outside world, a sort of...private side of me. I thought it was pretty unique but one of his close friends said he loved that too. His partner and I thought it was hilarious.0 -

My last ever Mortgage was with Bank of Ireland, Fixed at 1% for 5 years (back in the early 1990's )
That had no exit penalties, so I kept my ££ in the Bank, and then paid it off as soon as it reverted back SVR
Now remind me............what ever happened to Bank of Ireland 'In nature, there are neither rewards nor punishments - there are Consequences.'0 -
The important thing is to look confident in what you are wearing. It won't go away. It's normal. You'll get more used to it - and reading the house buying/ mortgage forums (fora?)
Plus there are plenty of us here who are happy to try to help.0 -
Hey jelly, if you do end up moving, I found this website pretty helpful:
http://www.helpiammoving.com/
Not so much in terms of the commercial services they offer, more in terms of the hints, tips and lists. I hadn't moved for a long time, last time was pre-internet access, so it was great to have so much knowledge to hand. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Chewy is buying with a partner.
Jelly has been living at home (I think) for ages while building up his deposit.
You bought with neither of these advantages. You are doing well to have bought at all, after the financial fiasco of your relationship with your ex. :T
Cut yourself some slack, girl.
I was (half) joking. After a lifetime of trying to avoid debt (not counting student loan) it really is difficult seeing that technically there are over 29 years to go. I'm not used to this level of commitment!
But I'm patient and will get immense pleasure from chipping away at it whilst getting the house done up. I do also know that I'm not an outlier compared to the general population
I'd rather come to work every day for the next 30 years than e.g. get an inheritance (not that I want anything - would rather those who earned it enjoyed it). I'm fine0
