It looks lovely on your (I'm not quoting) DD in your photo. I'm not sure how keen Isaac would be, unless I sell it to him as a "tunic" rather than "dress". He's tall for his age, but takes after OH, and is therefore very slim. <curses the pair of them, who can eat for England and still look slender>
He wore a grey sleeveless jumper last year as Harold Godwinson (OH's), which became a respectable tunic length on him at the age of 7, and we borrowed a pair of brown tights for him to wear with it, a belt, and a scabbard I made out of leather wired together.vivatifosi wrote: »Lydia, please don't stress, the dressing up character parade is just one of 20 suggested WBD initiatives, and if schools do participate they are supposed to give parents lots of notice. There's a good chance that the school does do something, just not the dressing up. If this does come at you from left field, there are some easy outfits you can copy on the linked website.
I agree, authenticity takes second place to calmness....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
... the Senco *is* expected to make the effort to get to know these things and to provide appropriate training if necessary. That's what they're paid for. 40 years ago, schools didn't have Sencos.0

Depends on the school, probably, and how big it is.
At OH's school, it was called "Special Needs Educational Resources Department", but that's probably changed name half a dozen times since then....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

Probably needs a prop of a book or something.
And write some key quotes onto card so he can repeat them....0 -
<wince> be easier to get him to learn them, quotes he had to read wouldn't be popular.
His reading's improved a lot, but I'm not sure he's up to reading Latin....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

It would be altogether less elegant than what you will produce!
That would be me. I loved doing these things even though I am creatively challenged.0 -

What an informative day this has been.
Viva.... you work in a library....I had you down as knowing everything...or almost as much as zag.0 -
I'm sure that one of my teachers would, at this point, say that a good education is knowing how and where to look things up. And Viva most undoubtedly does!...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0
