I had a lump in the last place a gentleman wants to have a lump a good few years ago now. Discovered by chance in the shower.
It's not pleasant going to the doctor and having to have a scan but it turned out to be nothing serious so was relieved!“I could see that, if not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled.” - P.G. Wodehouse0 -

I'm still hoping one day someone will invent a boob shaped mammogram.
My mother 's tales of mammograms used to terrify me. Now I have been with her t other stuff I realise its probably just really uncomfortable.
I'm not sure because it was never spoken of but I think my paternal grandmother had breast cancer.0 -

Maybe if you go and sit on his knee and let your nice smelling long hair swish forward he'll change his mind a little?
I will - he's out for dinner this evening (hence my spending the evening having a lovely warm bath, and washing my hair as well). But he reckons expensive shampoo and so forth is a con-trick women fall for, and that cheap is just as good....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
On the subject of shampoo, do the men here have their own shampoo or use shampoo belonging to women in the house?
I really don't like what we have in at the moment and it occurred to me that there isn't really any shampoo marketed at men who, whilst not obsessive about their hair, like it looking good and do care about it.“I could see that, if not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled.” - P.G. Not pleasant, but only for embarrassment right? Not painful?
You see, family planning clinics etc, we women are so much better practised at the embarrassment factor.0 -

OH buys a general, mild shampoo for both him and Isaac. Usually Johnsons & Johnsons I think. My Dad uses whatever is to hand, so the wise woman keeps her expensive shampoos out of his way!...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

Mmm discomfort rather than pain I'd say, but yes mainly for embarrassment.

No, they really can be different. It depends how 'difficult' your hair is whether you need the help or not.
There are some shampoos that I understand doctors are recommending to chemo patients now, for example.
I find I can usually cope with pretty basic conditioners but need more'oomph' products.0 -
I don't use any products, such a mousse, hairspray, or anything. I never blow-dry my hair either (in fact, I don't have a hair dryer).
I have lots of hair, but each one is very fine and slippery, so if I dyed it, or loaded it with stuff, or used a hairdrier, I couldn't have it very long, it would get too damaged. So I stick to washing every so often (once or twice a week, at most) and otherwise not messing with it. Works for me!...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

DH, like me, is a 'lo poo-er' and shampoos only after swimming. He eithe uses conditioner that hasn't suited my hair ( his hair is annoyingly easier going) or buys his own. We are both curly so theoretically can share some products, but his hair is better behaved than mine. He rarely needs the same sort of styling products.0
