I usually leave this one once every 7-10 days ... when I run out of some food or other.Doozergirl wrote: »... I haven't left the house ...0 -
It's one of those things you'd see in 70s cokery books, if you were having a dinner party.vivatifosi wrote: »I can remember my aunt cooking crown of lamb. I wonder if they still do that as a roast there. I don't think I've ever seen it in the UK.
Therefore, very few people will have ever had one as it's not very meaty looking and a bit of a faff ... with the little hats on.0 -
I get bored by how long Horizon manages to spin out a trace of factual sugar into a hour's worth of visual candyfloss to use ( to use an unnecessary sugar-related metaophor). I really wish the Tivo had a summarise button.
Meh, at least its not channel four.
Everything is like that now, no? Its tedious I agree.

I'm sitting at the bus stop and a pine cone weighing about 4-5lbs and perhaps a foot long just fell out of the tree next to me. It gave me a hell of a shock!
There's been warnings about those in the past: http://www.news.com.au/national/bunya-pine-begins-dropping-lethal-10kg-cones-the-size-of-watermelons/story-e6frfkvr-12262877700520 -

I had a prostate exam once.Interesting experience.
Well once isn't enough.
When a friend of mine was seeing practice (do doctors call it that too?) the GP he was sitting with told him men go in so infrequently and that he'd rarely found a problem with some one coming in for one. How he found most was people came in for something else and the go would deal with it and say, ' while you're here......'. Most problems were found that way.
That's how my dad's was found, And far to late btw....the extent of it by then was significant.
(If I were viva I'd have colostomy recommendations in my sig nature just cos they is so ok....nicest test ever, and prostate ones cos they are so impoRtant
( like my r?). But others......? Iatrobobia raging ATM. I cancelled a hospital appt for next week today, Just cannot do it.
. Otherwise I feel great

The lavender wagon cometh........much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
I love watching 24 hours in A&E - it's on 4+1 at the moment.... sad thing is, somebody usually dies. At the end they give you an update and it's quite sad.
The other time I watched it there was a little old woman and her husband - she was an alcoholic. They add in memories from the family, filmed separately. The man really loved her and told a bit of how they met etc. And he said something I couldn't quite catch, couldn't quite get the relationship, but it was like: her brother had been dumped by his girlfriend when he was 16, so the man had gone out with him for drinks - and the brother had jumped in the canal on the way home; the man had tried to find him/get him out, but the boy had drowned. He said she'd never got over it and it would all come out when she was drunk... and she had a drinking problem due partly to that. She left the Hospital OK, not needing an operation. The end of programme catchup said she'd died in the next 1-2 months of something else.
