It's been bitter here as well. Walked the dog, he did his biz and turned back pdq.
Pleased to find out the air traffic strike over Europe ends on Thursday! Also wondering whether pre-booking restaurants and tours is necessary at this time of year.
Not restaurants, unless it is a top one mentioned in Rick Steves guide book;)
Tours? Probably, a lot of Americans in x in Jan and they pre book everything!0 -
It's boiling here so on average we are both comfortable.
I'm sitting at the bus stop and a pine cone weighing about 4-5lbs and perhaps a foot long just fell out of the tree next to me. It gave me a hell of a shock!
Welcome to Australia, the country where they even have killer pine cones.
Gen, I meant to say, at my mum's house we found a really old book on household management, written in Australia in the 1960s. One of the comparisons it had was between British and Australian cuts of meat. Even then they were very different. I can remember my aunt cooking crown of lamb. I wonder if they still do that as a roast there. I don't think I've ever seen it in the UK.Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

Depends where you are going and what time you like to eat.
Very best time of year too go IMO.

It certainly would have really hurt if it hit you!
Isn't Crown of Lamb the same as a pair of racks? Think so. The cuts are confusing. Sirloin of pork anyone? How about some gravy beef?0 -
Gravy beef sounds good!
It hasn't stopped raining here all day and I haven't left the houseEverything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

It's what is sold in the UK as shin or thigh. The 2 cuts get mixed together. We eat a lot of it.0 -

I have been out TWICE today
Its poo tank emptying day tomorrow (doing it early cos of all the rain) so that's an event too :rotfl:
I'm also not sure whether my wet chimney is drying out or not.
I think I should take photos every week so we can compare. BUT, I have good news, I worked out the ' spot'. We worried about and I don't think its serious at all. I think its cold air coming in the duct from utility and hitting the wall. Almost certain of it.0 -
Really interesting horizon tonight , with reference to the discussion recently about how dangerous sugar is.
Edit: you know.....I don't try and feed big dog, dog dog and kiwi the same food, kiwi is a different beast entirely with different muscle type, energy profile etc. Nor do the horses here all get the same diet bar being on the same foundation of 'fibre based'0 -

I get bored by how long Horizon manages to spin out a trace of factual sugar into a hour's worth of visual candyfloss to use ( to use an unnecessary sugar-related metaophor). I really wish the Tivo had a summarise button. There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -
So ... I leave the TV running, not choosing programmes. When something annoys me I turn over....
I just walked back in and sat down and there'a Dr approaching people randomly in the street asking when they last had a prostrate exam. When they say "never" he invites them to have one right then... first bloke said no time, 2nd bloke said "OK".
Anyway, I wasn't really watching .... next time I looked up I could see a blurred out bum as he was on the couch and had his bum out .... I looked away for a bit ... looked back to see, full screen, this guy's butt on full screen, with the dr's finger shoved up it.
TIME TO CHANGE CHANNEL!!!0
