Do we ask if you were affected by it? Don't answer that if you'd rather not.

I wasn't affected by it but some of my contemporaries were, and the effects were pretty grim. I'm slightly puzzled by the fact that I never seem to see people with its effects now ( I mean people my age with it).

Any idea why they are leaving it until Thursday?

I suspect it's because it's her Grandkids' birthday party tonight and she doesn't want to miss it.

I went to my GP this morning who also happens to be her ex-employer. He asked me the same question and didn't seem very pleased with the answer.

The reason she has very high blood pressure is simple: too much salt, sugar and fat in the diet. She had an enforced stay in a rehab hospital after knee surgery and the blood pressure came right down as she was eating a diabetic-friendly diet (she has diabetes too).

    Well,

No bread did't kill me:). ( though I never got round to the juice).

To day is raw juice day.

RP is away for a while and the time seems right to try raw veg, and juice.

Edit......btw, like gen, I have been feeling 'anxious' for a while. Fidgety. I described to a friend as feeling like a 'flight risk'. Certainly if I could run away from life and everything but take fir with me (and not leave a mess) I probably would have done in the last couple of weeks at some point.

But I feel better today too. :).

Despite liking the music threads (this is easily my favourite) I wonder how many other posters will own up to not being familiar with toploader? :o
I had to close that thread as I'd have spent all day looking stuff up. I must remember to look at another time.:) Pound to a penny says I'll forget...:o

To those who haven't heard of toploader, you lucky lucky people.

I'm very contradictory, in that i can be a bit of a music nazi, but I don't like that in myself. I dislike that snobbish element, & am sure I listen & like stuff that others will feel is vile unlistenable guff.

PS Zag, can't believe lemon jelly didn't get a mention on that thread! Could do with a bit of underworld too.

Mrs Generali's mum is going to hospital on Thurs for a while. BP is 198/119. She wins the blood pressure prize I think.

Krikey, better get that sorted pronto. My mother's stroke happened when her BP kept on shooting up to those levels.

Our scales broke down just before christmas and I finally got around to buying some more. I lost 6lb since Christmas eve. So, pretty happy about that :)

I can't say I'm a huge fan of Toploader. Not a bad name for a band.

These days (past decade or so) time has been too short to sort through the huge amounts of crap for me to find decent modern music. I happened across the odd thing during that 10 years that is brilliant (e.g. Daft Punk and Mika) but not much really. I'm happy listening to music that I enjoy: I'm happy listening to Ludwig van and Mozart, Miles Davis and Led Zep. There is no good or bad music, just as there are no good or bad colours.

    Maybe:

I'll second that. High blood pressure and diabetes is not a great combination and can gang up on you.

Clearly, that's a likely result. If you're 70 and eat crap and don't exercise then.......

Daft Punk have really grown on me. Some kids across the water made this vid for a school project

They've done other covers of Avicii etc.

Do they have Spotify or Grooveshark in Aus? Is Jools Holland's TV show view-able there?
