Lydia, I think the thing pn has posted and removed was a reference to the past not a present crisis.

Nevertheless, I think we are all pretty indignant about the very poor way PN and her family were treated by officialdom.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

I meant to respond to this at the time and suddenly thought of it whilst doing the washing up tonight...

If you think toploader's cover of dancing in the moonlight is annoying you should listen to the original version by king harvest. It is really really irritating, it sounds like a cross between toploader and a really out of tune music box. Available on youtube...

On the subject of toploader, I quite like their latest album, only human. I think I'm old enough to like rubbish music with no edge now.

The Toploader version makes me feel quite nauseous, really don't think I could handle the original.

As for the comment about age, I don't buy it. A liking for rubbish music must have always been there. You just did a better job of hiding it!

My boys and all their friends think my choice in music is pretty cool as I like what they like in rock music.

I think it's because in my head, it is still 1987/8 and I am 17/18 years old and going to gigs, not 2014, nearly 44...but still going to gigs, only very recently started going again :rotfl:
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Over eight years I've 'known'some of you lot. That's a bloody long time!

I remember doozer (spell check wants to call you Pfizer), lir, Sue, Gen, NDG and Pastures from the days before we had our own board, let alone the NPTs. I lurked more back then.

Don't know whether it was this or not, but my mum's dog has just spent six days in vet intensive care with similar symptoms. Bill was £3k and they are anxiously waiting to hear if insurance will pay. Lurcherdog is back home but on mend. Vet has advised walking muzzled so that she can't pick up again. Herts area. ETA, should add, no lesions, but had rest of symptoms.

I hope it's something else. There doesn't seem to be much known for certain about this disease. Zagdog gets walked around a couple of parks that have lots of deer. Hope they're nothing to do with this.:(

We're just not risking it. We have deer in out fields, so not much we can do about that, but I'm not taking the dogs up to the woods. On the big hill is effectively the biggest deer reserve outside a national park. No dogs are walked there so who knows, but I'm not risking the foot paths and open for walkers areas arou d it. Not till we know more.

Lurcherdog gets walked for the most part in three different places. One is a wood, one is a moor and the other is a common. No normal town parks, all very wooded and with other flora/fauna. Mum said the scary bit was how quickly she fell ill. She was taken to vets and transferred straight away to vet hospital. It was touch and go. Deer commonplace in two of those walking areas.

ETA I should add I don't know what was wrong with LD. Tomorrow when it is earlier I will phone mum and ask if they took cultures for this. She'd be in bed if I called now.

And before they let the tenants and landlords on the 'house buying and selling board' ? :p I joined two weeks after DD was born. I lurked for a while before I posted but I do remember what my first post was about!

This sounds terribly frightening, I hope doglet makes a full recovery :(

I know we didn't have the NPT back then, but that board was a fun place to play - a bit of a melting pot, before the boards split and the crazies came over here ;). It's totally sterile now, I get no real pleasure from posting. (She says, just going to have a look, just in case they're throwing a wild party)
