The day they were doing goalie-type stuff, Dad threatened to hose them down before they came in, and Mama did insist they both strip to pants in the scullery, rather than go anywhere in the rest of the house as mud statues. Isaac thought it was hysterical, his 29 year old uncle being ordered to strip in the same way as his 8 year old self (-:I think....0 -
Had a lovely day today
After church, I went to a chocolate workshop to make a free bar of chocolate
Then had a bowl of soup and small sarnie at the local theatre caf! bar before going on a free backstage tour of the theatre.
And then met some nice people (not NP) for an hour or so before coming home.
Now just deciding whether to retreat to bed and put Mr Selfridge on record. :cool:0 -
Wouldn't use of actual goal posts be a posher alert than brollies of any description?
Said brollies aren't used for playing golf, they just hang about in a stand in the hallway....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

We have a variety of umbrellas by the front door ranging from big black ones to bright pink plastic ones, through a couple of odd manly parasols. They aren't at all posh. But they are chucked in a heap with a couple of old polo sticks, whoch probably are:D0 -

My Dad and Bruv do play golf sometimes, but not seriously, and only when the weather's good. So while I don't know where the brollies come from, they aren't used to play golf....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

That is one horrendous loft conversion! One of my 'things' is watching out for the awful and out of place loft conversions and extensions.
Yes, I am slightly strange....We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -

We looked at this one and would have probably put an offer in if it wasn't for the loft conversion on the next door property - check last photo...

Horrible!

Not senseless, just pragmatic: "We are desperate for more space. We can't afford to move. Extending upwards is our only option. We must maximise the usable space in the conversion. We know it will look pig ugly and extremely strange, and that it will make the pair of semis lopsided, but our need for space is so desperate that we're going to do it anyway."
I think hip to gable conversions became permitted development about 3 years ago.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0
