    Why ? It's awful.

I saw a flat advertised there. You'd advise against that area, then?
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Thanks for the advice. That's saved me a lot of time. It sounded so posh, too, with the word Heath ....

Kiwi has special hair.....it needs to be teased out of matts delicately.
Do they make a Tangle Teezer for dogs?

No, but there is no ban on using tangle teasers on dogs :D

Tangle teasers are based on plastic curry combs....a type of horse brush.

Sadly, neither make the slightest impact on his coat:rotfl:

I happily hose in summer, and hose legs in winter, maybe even under bellies , but not more than that. Not in a cold house especially. Collies are pretty hardy. Kiwis are tough but have coat constraints, and I don't particularly fancy ear problems either.

Edit...I wish kiwi would meet me half way ..and avoid getting his hair in matts and muddy tangles.

The hosing doesn't seem to both the dogs at all, I don't think my Dad would do it if they were upset by it. Both happily go into the ponds, even at this time of year, so cold water isn't a problem for them.

Collies' coats don't ever seem to tangle or get matted, which is a bonus. Mud also often just slides off them. Fox poo sticks, however.
...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.

No, like I agreed, collies are tough. They've been selectively bred over a LONzg time with toughness a key consideration.

Kiwis have been bred for grit, but not necessarily weatherproofing, surprising because of origin. Also a working dog, meant to be water dog, they are susceptible to the cold so my kiwi tells me :D and despise swimming:rotfl:

Greyhounds however, certainly not bred for swimming, in this household will swim in nice clean not too deep water if it means staying near me. :)

Edit...kiwis are also meant to be one person dogs, but kiwi loves almost EVERYBODY, the family, friends, clients. Not keen on builders etc though. No idea why.

Avatar Dog liked swimming, especially if somebody would throw a stick into the water for him. He would keep going a lot longer retrieving a stick from water than a ball on dry land - I imagine because he stayed cool. He wouldn't swim in salt water, though. He'd try to pick something up out of the water, be surprised by the taste, try to have a drink to make the nasty taste go away, and be appalled by the result.
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.
