    .

I absolutely loathe the words "babymomma" and "babydad". Yuck.

I thought you made them up.

And none from me either as £600 wouldn't have ever been on my filters. Washing machines cost £100 :)

But I doubt that you would need to run your washing machine 3 to 4 times a day?
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Washing machines are free. I just got one from some chap in east finchley through freecycle. Don't need it so I popped it on eBay.

OH is making Anzac biscuits for Australia Day. I tried to make them for her a couple of years ago but my amateurish approach to baking failed miserably - I thought I would double the amount of golden syrup because I like golden syrup. It didn't work out well!

I saw the blinds fitted to a back door .... you might like to see them for yourself in real life if you're going to put them anywhere noticeable.

I'd always go with venetians, you can tilt them so people can't see in .... unless they've got their noses against the window - and/or you can still hang a voile behind that, which can't be seen from outside. IMHO venetians always give the best/cleanest look and privacy/security.

Are you politely saying they look carp?

Venetians attached to the window or stand alone venetians?

Problem is that they are harder to attach in a rounded bay, which was why I found the idea of attaching them to the window attractive.

So, you're not going to light the candle then?

Talking of painting, I like the green and the blue, but I am not keen on the orange stripe above and below the coat hooks. I love the chair with the red cushion!

Orange? Red? Pink (dark salmon admittedly) and shocking pink!

Feeling very blessed this afternoon. A friend who I made through another thread on Mse visited and we had a nice day together. She brought treasure as she is down sizing and cannot take everything . We are now the proud owners of a firepit, so DH can stop eyeing up the one he likes online. And a beautiful little Belfast sink I', going to use outside in the herb garden for washing veg, herbs and hands to grubby to bring inside, so beautiful and real 'extras' that are delightful but not essential, so great gifts!

Most importantly though we had a good natter and laughter.

Wish I had - sadly, "babydad" and "babymomma" are actual words used by a section of the young population (-:
...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.
  • My parents have been having alarms and excursions in Kent - a mini very local tornado brought two trees crashing down on the gates, scaring the life out of sister #1 and horses in the stables nearby, and knocking out the electricity and phone cables.

The Aga still worked (oil) but the heating didn't, as although oil-fired, it needs some electricity to work the pump or similar. So parents lit the wood-burning stoves and enjoyed a very silent candle-lit dinner, Mama said.

The leccie should, apparently, be back on tomorrow, the phone might take a bit longer. And a helpful neighbour and Dad together moved the trees so the gates can now open and shut again.
