true, but there are usually only 4 or 5 of us in the pub, which means there's about 2,995 other employees potentially (definitely) slagging me off somewhere else.0 -
We went to the beach today. This one in fact:
The thing was, it was blowing an absolute gale so the waves were huge, absolutely massive. One of the Generalissimos got knocked over in the rip tide and couldn't get up again and took quite a battering before I dragged him to his feet. I think I might have saved another kid who just couldn't get up again, don't know who he was but he was too deep for his height and strength.
We went house hunting while we were there. The best place we saw was this:

Don't be fooled by the pictures, the place is a dump. You can live in it but it's very, very tired. It's on a great block and there's scope to make quite a lot of money on it as it's on a great street and the maximum price for houses in Otford is probably about $900k. It'll sell for somewhere around $570k at a guess.
Not sure that we're going to be in a position to buy it by the time it goes to auction which is gutting. Oh well.0 -
Nikkster.
I think your mind is telling you its got over the last phase of life and ready for the next, that's all. I think its a good sign and to be embraced. Minds are weird....they rare just lay it out there, there has to be some sort of mystery tour....0 -

it really annoys me when OH comes home from work and slags all her colleagues off - i've no idea what or who she's on about. i do that in the pub at 4pm on a friday and get it all out my system there!
I love that bit,:o. Mainly because I don't work I guess. I look the people up on the company website so I know what they look like. ( on a weird fixed smile and frozen face day any way ).0 -
Cheers, yeah I did make some really good friends when I did my bachelors, that I'm still in touch with and see pretty regularly, but they're all all over the country now.
This is the thing, I'm very personable. I'm not used to it being such hard work, and it's not like I'm not making an effort.
Anyway, I'm sure I'll feel better tomorrow!
I'm in touch with very few from those years. They were friends with my ex too. When I separated from him it it became nasty the social group started taking sides or getting in volved. I didn't want that. Most had looked on while some quite nasty things had happened. I decided I didn't need friends like those. I'm in touch with a few, but not the big group. And I consider it no loss.. Throughout that time while most people had stayed in the tight group I 'd continued social life outside ( I had to get out of our isolated place not because of the isolation but for some different conversation mainly) and even though my ex had become quite controlling( and at the end physically abusive, that's why it was the end) I was definitely seen and probably was the stronger one, so I felt it kind of fair to let him have friends who were losing value in my eyes anyway.
Edit: btw: I don't feel like a victim over that. I stayed and played silly !!!!!!s alongside him. I'm not sure why I was doing apart from rebelling. He was beautiful but thick (wily though) and I always knew he was nasty. I was stupid but not a victim.
The police who became involved were fabulous, and also really good looking and fun. And I learned a really good lesson about trusting partners you are not married to with money.

:grouphug::grouphug::grouphug::grouphug::grouphug::grouphug:Thanks viva
Will definitely think about it - I love a pub quiz.
Sorry for the whinge. I really don't have a lot to complain about by anyones standards. Its just the culmination of a few things this week, and sometimes its difficult when you come home to an empty house and don't have anyone to vent to/ give you a hug!
:grouphug::grouphug::grouphug::grouphug::grouphug::grouphug::grouphug:
Take one each evening as necessary.0
