Generali, I love you. Guinness stew is ideal.

Veg cooked the life out of, meat, and totally savoury. I don't usually peel veg for stews but I can do. I cannot use onion or celery ( i love cooked celery). But its an IDEAL meal for a cold day for my restrictions. I just hadn't even thought of it. Hmm, wish I could drop so e pickled walnuts in it though......

Oh, that's cheered me up NO end. Thank you !!!

There are a few posts I'm planning on replying to later, but just wanted to quickly say I'm glad you're ok, viva (and Dr Tifosi). Its not surprising that you feel so shaken up. And great news about Big Dog, lir :)

That sounded scary, viva! Glad you got it sorted out.

Why do banks make it so difficult to open a new account? Sigh.

It's finally done but only after an awful amount of messing around. About three weeks worth of messing around... I just wanted a basic account (one with no credit attached, and no balance to speak of) so when I do online shopping I can't end up getting ripped of for thousands... Just transfer in the money I need and whammo.

    Sounds easy... but nope.

This is a nice bit of land. You'd get planning permission too:

    That view!!!

That DOES look like nice land.

    Questions:

    1. How many poisonous snakes can fit into an area that large?
    2. How likely would it be to be bitten by a spider?

Metro Bank was easy. Account open in half an hour. Now they announce they are going to charge for using the debit card outside Europe - totally negating the purpose of opening the account.

Still awake, still a stressed mess. .

Sounds like a normal reaction to a close call.

Viva what kind of heater is it that has to be hoovered out before you switch it on???

    That does not sound normal.
