No crackers.
I think my parents are working up to making our house that house... Will try and get a pics tomorrow (have already popped to the garage in my obedient tonight, not doing it again) It'll take a few years, but another illuminated Dec was purchased this eve... As well as our traditional yellow sticker turkey for next year (£84  down to £21. Wonder if that beat Michaels?

The things that ruin stay actions are the people we have decided.
Sounds like a great plan. Christmas is well underway here. Everyone is home from work, the front door has had it's ceremonial locking, and the only time anyone will be unlocking it before at least Boxing Day will be to a) take the rubbish out or b) bring more alcohol in.
Have a lovely holiday with fir. And hope all the other NP have lovely Christmasses too. Thoughts esp with bugslet and viva xxx0 -

heh heh.....
I don't have crackers this year (I think) as Mrs McT swears we have some in a box somewhere from last year when I was ordering, but hasn't found them as yet.
So just in case, I wrapped a few bottles of her favourite tipples in cracker shaped wrapping.lostinrates wrote: »Tomorrow we are unplugging the phone.
Work phone is switched off.
Cigar is lit.
Glenmorangie is opened.
Wind is howling outside, fire is roaring inside, live Santa tracker is on the macputer, friends from around the world are waking up to Christmas day and saying hi on facebook.
No matter how much we may moan on here all year, life is very, very good.

Bushwacked!
Just finished baking gingerbread, flapjacks & about to take chocolate concrete out the oven.
Stuffing almost made.
Sprouts done (I hate sprouts!)
We'll be having home grown carrots with our dinner!
Turkey crown to be cooked from frozen, so my panic 30 seconds ago was pointless....It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

I got 27%. I think I'm pretty frugal for myself, but that mostly takes the form of not using stuff, rather than trying to get it for nothing, and definitely not saving myself money at anybody else's expense - that's just mean.lostinrates wrote: »Big dog home, very wobbly I and with more pIlls than me!!!!! Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

That sounds very prepared!
All the food has been purchased and is in the house. That's as far as it goes on Christmas Eve here. Preparations will be done tomorrow morning with a gin and tonic and/ or something sparkling. After a Bucks Fizz with breakfast0 -
I'd done all my wrapping 10 days ago, though that was more to do with avoiding certain visitors, rather than being prepared!
The baking was a combination of having loads of stuff here needing using up, as well as intending to do some of it for weeks & repeatedly putting it off.
Last year we did a load of prep the night before, & it made the day so less hectic & meant time to sit & chat was greatly extended! It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -
I am apparently only 49% tight. However I did beat PN. Maybe it's because I was born in Yorkshire and I'm half Scottish
Edit: is being more tight than PN an anti-posh alert?0 -
Popped into Asda earlier for crackers. They had none. They had Smartprice ones still at £1 and some small crackers labelled "children's crackers". There were no bargains. 10 minutes to closing time and nothing was reduced further than 1/2 price .... for some veg and a few random items... but nothing vaguely interesting.
Even their stacks of wrapping paper was still only reduced to 50p/roll from £1 - the same low price I paid yesterday morning.0
