Feeling old. There has been a sky broadband-sky box connector lying around for a few weeks. Kids had it wired up in 10 minutes.

Dinner was not 100% successful, roast beef was a bit tough - kids said "we should have stuck with george foreman" Desserts were good and that is what people remember.

Ous was mixed too. I did a delia stuffing. That woman and I just don't agree on many things it seems. Different culinary outlooks. :). Glad I used my goose timings and not hers, it would have been very over cooked. I double checked my times with a themomtre (its first use!) and I got it fine for poultry, which IMO was a step too far already for goose.

Also, I insisted we finally use one of dh's puddings from his stash which he buys after Christmases and then eats, but he never eats as many as he buys. This year we ate a four years past bbd fortnums pud. It was a bit dried out when I checked before dropping it in the pot, so I fed it. Or rather......over fed it.

It tasted amazing, probably best I've had, better for being old and fed with rum, but because I'd been a little over generous it was too moist to turn out, so we couldn't set dirt to it.

But i do now have a new pudding basin, which I needed, as mine was broken some point in the last year or so, :)

    Happy Xmas Day evening everyone.
Hope everyone had/is having a lovely, restful time.

What a few days it has been....

My mothers op went well on the 19th and she had a new stent put in and a biopsy done (all down the throat) so she can eat OK for the next 6 months we hope. Whilst she can digest, she can live ok.
The biopsy results will confirm whether it is PSC or Bile duct cancer that destroyed the ducts.....though neither disease can be treated successfully....but they need to know.

The storm seeped through our north facing wall in the studio so we had a flooded kitchen, both loos and the hallway to the fire door.
All those 'valuable' possessions stored in boxes (cardboard) were stacked in the loos and the hallway....

So Xmas eve morning we wake up to no power (and I had a ton of prep to do), so instead went into work (mainly to have a cup of tea as we have no gas hob) and helped OH sort out soaking books, vinyl and the rest.
It was stuff at the base of the boxes and on top that got wet.

It has now been decided that we will flog most it now as, going through it all made is realise we don't want to hang on to stuff just because.....

Neighbour called to let me know power back @ midday and I returned home to my field kitchen + chopped and cooked Coro chicken sauce, chick pea salads, stuffed a turkey, leek bake, prepped a load of veg (so much washing and peeling my fingers went wrinkly).

Today I took it all over to my mothers and did everything there and fed X 10 ....just got back and I am totally whacked.

Tomorrow over to my sisters for more of the same.

    But it's been nice so I won't grumble ;)

You know what LIR, I think I excelled myself of it this time as the secret is the actual flavoured sauce that is then folded into the yoghurt. Obvs, don't want to brag .;)..but..omg.. I tasted it and it is the best one ever.
It is amazing what one can create on a 2 ring elec mini hob.

The chick peas took 2 hours to cook though.....but I do a chick pea, chorizo, parsley and balsamic salad and that came out really well too.

Oh fc. What a few days you've had. Hope there wasn't too much damage, and that there continues to be positive news about your mum.

It doesn't get better than the one you brought here surely? I still think about it sometimes. Its done so often so badly. Yours has ruined ALL OTHERS for me now. Pffft. Won't even try them. :rotfl:

Happy Christmas Folks. Xmas dinner ran on time at 6.30 and all was good except as we were sitting down I realised we had forgotten the bacon and sausages...but in reality we didn't feel as uncomfortably stuffed as we would have done had I remembered.
    I think....
