Roads were empty for me. A40, M40, M25, M4, nothing around. Wasn't even a queue where the M4 reduces to 2 lanes - I have never seen it like that before at 7pm. Normally there would be at least half a mile of queue there.

Christmas over and done with for another year.

I have acquired a onesie as a result!

    Where will you wear it?

On my sofa I should think. Well...actually I am wearing it on my sofa right now. It goes terribly well with my generic sheepskin boots.

Loved that! My thanks to the mini michaels for that dose of festive cheer. So glad I caught it in time.

Haven't read the messages yet as back to work tomorrow and haven't been around much, but hope everyone had the Christmas they wanted.

It's sounding a bit wild out there again, and not in a partying sense, so hope all your homes are safe too.

Well Christmas lunch was horrible. 14 there. We shared 2kg of spuds between all of us. Then we had dried out roast meat, cooked the day before and then bunged into a warmer about an hour before eating along with burned ham for those that didn't fancy dried out roast meat. Burned pumpkin and a bowl of salad (tinned corn and a torn open bag of salad) completed things.

Pudding was a selection of over-sweet, shop bought items. Nothing wrong with them in themselves I guess as long as you go for that sort of thing.

At least there weren't any completely pointless and irrational arguments kicked off this year so we should be thankful for the little things at this time of year.

Oh well, we plan to be in England for next year which means dinner with my Mum. Roast rib of beef (done medium rare at the very least) with all the trimmings.

So 364 days a year Aus wins out but when it comes to Christmas it has to be the sort you grew up with - I can't imagine the best Christmas roast being that attractive if it were 35 degrees outside and light until 10pm
    I think....

    Very busy and exhausting Christmas.

I took on the lionshare of cooking yesterday at my parent's as they really can't cope with it all now but despite my back completely breaking down part way through, my brother and sister in law were as much use as a chocolate tea pot when it came to helping out!

Same story today when we went round for the traditional boxing day evening buffet and party, I had offered to cook the buffet with help from the others but apart from mum, no other help was offered.

Mum and dad have said next year that we will all go out somewhere for Christmas day dinner as they can't do it and I certainly can't do it on my own.

I got some lovely presents...and lots of chocolate! Ex hubby outshone me on the presents front to the boys but the boys didn't complain about my contribution or sneer at it. Talking about presents, my youngest nephew loved my pressie, purchased for the grand total of £1.50, he thought I had spent about £20 on him and my sister told me off for spending too much on her today...her present cost £2...but she didn't know that!

James was chuffed he managed to pick up 5 hours of work at his old part time job today, the extra money will help him keep going until his next grant/loan payment.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

    I love onesies.

I would look exceedingly silly (more so than most people do), in a onesie.

I would have thought they were essential for the Scottish winters!
