I also think the motivation for cooking for 1 is substantially lower than cooking for others. Cooking/eating is better experienced socially imo.
When there's just me, most meals seem "too much hassle".
More often than not, I find the motivation. I will eat the same meal a few times that week (exactly the same or slight variations) to make up for it. I'm worth the hassle
And I like eating0 -

Given that she's on record as hating the place, I avoided it. TBH I was concerned to see you recommended it, but heartened to see the follow up post below...
Toy Story is, imo the best film trilogy ever. Fact. All 3 films are superb, & you will benefit from them, whether you are a child, or an adult.
I remember watching Toy Story for the first time, years ago on VHS. The electricity went part way through & left the house I was in, in darkness.
I got up the next morning, walked into town, & bought it on VHS. Walked home, & watched it for the end.
Until not very long ago I had a toy story poster on my bedroom wall at my parents house. I'm also quite exited that Finding Nemo is on TV again too (despite the fact I have it on DVD).0 -

I blame Plumbing Center and Center Parcs. We ought to tax them more for illegally importing foreign spellings without paying import duty.:)There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -

Me too. If eating wasn't a biological requirement, I'd just do it as a hobby anway!:)There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -
We're all in trouble if that river causes problems for my house!
Not to say I'm not wondering about how it's doing though...
I have to say, I was surprised yesterday when we started having wet problems round the house. That was a new one...that our back lawn cannot cope with water and the path to the house was struggling.
We're putting in a land drain ( which is a bit of a luxury and a posh alert as the situation is not so dire really) to the north of the house, running east west into our ditch when the electric work is done ...had hoped that would be done in autumn, sigh, but I am now thinking we might consider another running one from the south to our south ditch too in the future.
It was bad rain, but not something that I felt the property should not cope with.
We also I think need to talk to someone about drainage for our surface water generally. I have a feeling we might have to consider a soak away. All our surface water goes into the cake, Yesterday the cake filled about twenty five percent by eye.
That's quarter of the expected water produce for a farm and house in a year in a day (actually a day and a half tbf). We produce no slurry water, so dramatically less than the cow farm this was built as...and we haven't extended yet. ( though we do put more clean water in there...our domestic water goes in there)0
