Lir, your tree is beautiful :)

    Thank you:)

I do need more lights though.

I used to have ones like candles that clipped on to each branch, I'd like them. Also, I'd like lights that 'twinkle' rather than just be on or off. But I'll probably not look till these die. :o

My decorations are pretty minimal, though more than the past er 10+ years combined. Treea, lights and tinsel from parents, tree decs were a cheapo ikea set I already had and the baubles hanging from the fireplace + star on front door I saw outside a florists for 25p each :)
I have a bag of dusty tinsel which came with the house (think it its destined for the bin). Will keep an eye out in the sales for some nice additions for next year...

Welcome BlueSky. Are you a scientist, or do you have a partner who is one? (You are of course very welcome whatever the answer is. :))
Parent is off today for Christmas. DH comes home.

One of the villages near here has a tiny road my car may fit up called ' the City'

I like it that Wells (2011 census population 11,343) qualifies as a city. :)

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

I am. That is bringing me immeasurable joy ... and brings lots of smiles to my little wrinkled face :)

It's transformed my room and my life. I turn the lights on from the minute I am awake to the minute I am going to sleep.

I moved from a small city (150,000) to a big town (70,000), thinking they wouldn't be much different. I mentioned about four threads back I only believe a place is a city when if you say you'll meet somebody at the
    chnese supermarket
    shopping mall
    multiplex
    university

You have to name which one each time! That's what tells you you're in a real city. I feel I might enjoy living in in Nottingham more than in Northampton despite the fact they're both similar sized settlements in the East Midlands.

Welcome in. Please be warned, I posted here about a year ago, and haven't been able to leave yet :eek:
But we do call London a town! So Herts-on-Sea makes sense, really (-:

    Moskva-na-Thames (Russian)/Moskovshi Thames (Georgian) ;)
Friday before Xmas.... people are supposed to being jolly things .... I'm not.

I'm doing what I'd be doing if it were any other day at any other time of year :(

We were stuck at Heathrow, then Istanbul for connecting flight. In Batumi now, and driving to Tbilisi as soon as we're rented (probably bought, as there's one for US$800 I saw 5 minutes ago, that we can 'donate' to someone on the way out)
