I like it that Wells (2011 census population 11,343) qualifies as a city.
Poti and Gori (both with population around 50000) are designated both 'cities' and 'regional headquarters' in Georgia. Poti is the 2nd largest shipping port, but 50000 is 15% the size of Harlow (the nearest 'large' town to me in UK), so therefore city status should (IMO) be reserved for Batumi (pop.180000), Kutaisi (Legislative Capital, pop.200000) and Tbilisi (Capital Proper; pop.1500000)💙💛 💔0 -
I didn't post earlier as more important stuff was happening on the NPT. Went to hospital a couple of days back. 3 and a half hours of poking, prodding, scanning, consulting, talking, taking samples and lots and lots of waiting. Confirmed that if there is anything untoward that it has been caught very early, but still v good chance it will be benign. Lovely team, really caring and very much made me feel better. Only downside is that they confirmed I won't get results until New year's eve. Still, I'm feeling quite chipper and ready to put tree up, only I can't lift anything so can't get it down from loft with DH (two person exercise), so I think Casa Tifosi is going to look a bit bare this year. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

Happy days. What a nice reminder:)0 -

I moved from a small city (150,000) to a big town (70,000), thinking they wouldn't be much different. I mentioned about four threads back I only believe a place is a city when if you say you'll meet somebody at the
chnese supermarket
shopping mall
multiplex
university
You have to name which one each time! That's what tells you you're in a real city. I feel I might enjoy living in in Nottingham more than in Northampton despite the fact they're both similar sized settlements in the East Midlands.
I lived in Nottingham for 5 years, and drive through Northampton every now and again. It would definitely be Nottingham for me!0 -

Thanks for keeping us in the loop. We are here for you.
Rather than a tree this year could you have poinsettia as a focal point and/or a large festive vase of flowers? If you are not inclined to do them M&S have some Christmassy bouquets which provide instant cheer.0 -

Well, you have caught it early and they seem to be acting quickly. I know the seasonal break is annoying but the other two factors are probably the more important.0 -
Thinking of you Viva. Waiting's unfair and tough at the best of times. Look after yourself, take it easy and try to get waited on hand and foot for the next week.0
