Hi, I have done as suggested and visited this sticky instead starting a new one or scrolling through others which may be out of date.

What I find here is a lot of advice which is almost impossible to follow because it's lists of links to other threads and even other sites which are just URLs which don't indicate what is being linked to.

It would be so much more helpful if the thread was broken down into constituent parts and links were hyperlinked off text that described what the destination link deal with.

It's obviously a subject that gets a lot of traffic so it's a shame for it to be so hard to access the advice.

You are best to start your own thread then, so we can help with your case.

...unless you are at debt collector stage which just means reading other threads and ignoring the letters, no need for another thread about DRP letters or similar. That's why that particular section is just links to threads because they are all the same, no further explanation needed.

Actually, I kind of agree :o Maybe I'm old fashioned, but it seems to be easier to read/go through after signing in (i.e. in the old style MSE screen format, not the new)?? But I really do appreciate everyone's input and assistance :A

    .

Ah, but then you get a "look at the newbie sticky" response. Catch 22 :)

Correct - but don't post in the newbie sticky, otherwise it will become a complete mess.

The newbie sticky is comprehensive, and the best available resource anywhere online to deal with this stuff. Problem is that lots of posters just want this to be a breeze to deal with, with as little effort as possible.

The reality of the situation is that it is a complicated area of contract law (even the Law Lords are having to debate long and loud on it - see Beavis) and once you're caught in the spider's web, you've got to work hard to get out of it. The newbies sticky, alongside a helping hand from regulars, will, in most cases, give you a good chance of getting free of the sticky stuff - before the PPC spider bites.

I agree - I'm old fashioned too. I always use the old style pale green screen format and agree, most threads like this with links look tons better in the old screen version! Don't like the new one, personally, sorry MSE.

  • Hi All,

Great advice on here. I was "charged" £85 to Park in Stratford Upon Avon at the weekend, I had a valid visitor badge, which I removed 5 minutes before travelling home, leaving the badge at my Uncle's house for him. In that 5 minutes LPS had slapped on a ticket.

Wrote to LPS on Monday using the standard letter available on here and charge was waived today 48 hours later.

So follow the process and seems if you have a reasonable appeal you'll be alright.:j
