According to the website they aim to deliver by 3pm in irban areas and 4pm in rural areas.

    I corrected you once
so i will do it again
    Irregular delivery times

For addresses in urban areas we endeavour to make one delivery every working day by 3pm. For addresses in rural areas Royal Mail endeavours to make one delivery every working day by 4pm (subject to exceptions for remote areas with limited transport infrastructure such as the Highlands and Islands).

Deliveries are scheduled to be completed by these times and Royal Mail endeavours to maintain this every working day, but daily volume variations, transport disruptions and operating issues mean that there may be some limited extension.

If it’s necessary for you to get your mail at a particular time of the day, then there are some additional services available that might help you:

So what time did your mail arrive that day?

    LIMITED extension
I wouldn't class 4.5 hours late as a limited extension.

Some mail arrived at about 12pm, some at 7:30pm, don't try and be pedantic, as parcels are classed as mail.

They aim to do something, they make no guarantees. City Link aimed to deliver my parcel between midday and 2pm today, but turned up half an hour ago. I did not make a fuss, I had a quick chat with the driver about how busy they are and we joked he'd no doubt be back again later in the week. No harm done!

20 minutes ago I had 2 callers in quick succession. One was my 84 year old neighbour asking if my husband could pop round as her light-bulb had gone on her stairs and she needed to be able to see when she went up to bed.

Of course I reprimanded her and told her she should have made an appointment as I was having tea with my husband.

Less than 5 mins later another neighbour called to ask if she could leave a key as her mother had rung asking her to pick her up from an appointment. As neighbours son was not yet home she would ring him to say we had a key for him to get in.

    No consideration some people!

    pedantic?
    No lets stick to fact
For addresses in urban areas we endeavour to make one delivery every working day by 3pm.

So they made their one delivery 3 hours before the target time.
    This meets the USO targets
packets are not part of the USO and are therefore not mail
Do you really want to argue this with me?

You really do prove not matter what you try and do for joe public,it will never be good enough.
I can just see you arms folded in the local rag, moaning about RM not delivering your packages before Christmas
How would you cover a packet increase of 50%+ with the same staff?

That's not my issue to worry about. It's theirs.

Tbf, my biggest issue wasn't even the TIME! It was just that if you're ringing a bell at that time to do so considerately!

And I don't do "arms folded in the local rag, moaning". I had a small vent about a postie making a delivery like an idiot, and have been pounced on over a minor detail.

You might want to look back at your old threads - you do seem to complain more than most! ;)

Just because that works for you, it doesn't mean it works for everyone. My neighbours all have my number, and vice versa. A quick text to ask a favour is the usual done thing between us all.
Also, if we do pop round later on after the kids are in bed, we make ourselves known by knocking on the living room window, nice and quiet and doesn't disturb the little ones.

Again, the issue wasn't the time so much as the way he/she made themselves known.

Yup, but that's because I mostly only really come on here to use this board.
If you looked at my profile on another consumer forum, it'd look like I have a lot of consumer issues as that's the only thing I really post about on one, or a lot of questions about raising children, as that's what I mainly post about on another.
Sometimes, it just helps to vent. If you have an issue with that, might I suggest finding an alternative board to lurk on.
Glad you're pathetic enough to go through my old threads to find a reason to belittle me.

and you have been told to complain about the door stepping
the doorbell. Well I can tell you right now
Whilst I would mention it to the postie, there is no set RM procedures to ring a bell(can you hear it from outside?)
So what would you have a manager do?

If the time is a minor detail, why are you still going on about it?
talking of times on RMs site etc
