Well done, Ruth, daily walking will do you the world of good, then if possible up the amount and you'll soon be seeing the benefits.little_sweetie wrote:Sorry to hijack the thread again, dear Sue, but I needed to talk to someone.....Thank heavens for friends in the box. God Bless you all x
Please, little_sweetie, don't apologise, I honestly do know how you would have felt as I stopped going some years ago for much similar and very hurtful reasons. Sadly, there are people who go to Church for all the right reasons and those who go as pillars of the community - who are anything but!! All your friends here "in the box" love you and would gladly have a natter and share laughter, it's the same with ALL of us here as I know we're all aware! BTW, you always know where I am so don't ever hesitate. :kisses3:
Not to worry about the C word, little_sweetie, it's just that we used to have a couple of girls who hated the very mention of being reminded until October, but they're not here anymore so it really doesn't matter then!Brillant news about your DH...he's becoming a reformed character thanks to your teaching, well done to G!!! :j

So could anyone tell me how we go about banking all our potted dosh later in the year? Will the bank just take all my £2/£1 coins loose or do I need to put them in bags? I've read elsewhere on this thread that I need to put the smaller coins into bags and take them to the bank a bit at a time, is that right?
Thanks for your help
Hi Older But Not Wiser, only ever take coins in the bags the bank or post office provide. If your bank is amenable then get the bags, and when the time comes, always make sure you have the correct amount of coins as stated per bag and that you only put £1's in one bag and £2's in the other etc. If the bank aren't very "user friendly" then try another, but try changing one bag at a time.If all else fails then try a local store, they're often very grateful for change.

little_sweetie wrote: »The rain stopped so I decided to do my bit to support the village and attend the Strawberry Tea at the local Church. I only had £4 left and the entrance fee was £3.50 which meant that I could also buy a plant from the plant stall there (all going to church funds). Anyway, I struggled down the very overgrown footpath to get there (my jeans were sodden) and the lady on the door took my £4, dropped it into her tin and decisively closed the lid! I didn't have the heart to ask for my 50p change
Well, I queued for a cup of tea and sat in a pew at the back of the church to drink it. I made eye contact and smiled but nobody spoke to me. I have never felt so alone as in that beautiful church. I left after 10 minutes, I didn't even have the heart to have my strawberry tea. Now I remember why I stopped going to church on a Sunday

Now that is really weird - this is the 3rd time in a week that I have done the washing and when I've emptied the drum there has been a 20p piece in there, on the one hand I'm not complaining (its already in my pot) but I'm a little freaked out as to where they are coming from.I'm not a failure if I don't make it, I'm a success because I :tried!0

Morning all! Just to say I had been good about not touching the pot but struggling to add to it... Must try harder! Loving hearing about what everyone else has been up too though..
