A very warm welcome back, sparky!! :D So sorry to hear you've been so rough, but it's so good to see you back with us. Take it easy for now!

Yes, I can believe you were home alone, Saver-upper, never mind though as it was all very helpful and gets you a gold star. :staradmin

All best wishes to you and your DD with the 50p, mossy! I hope it sells well. Your DD's words would surely warm the hearts of any hard soul. :A Great news about the £500 paid off your CC!!! :j

    Well done, 3431Anna, that's wonderful potting! :j

I'm pleased you and your DS had a good time, smiffy.

Thanks for the chuckle about sparky's former neighbour, Modesty. I understand what you mean about the Black Dog now, I'm so sorry to hear that, and if you ever need a listening ear. ;)

Congratulations to all of those who have given up smoking, I totally admire you. I would like to give up but my counsellor says that it is an emotional crutch that I need at the moment – I will give up eventually!

Ahh thank you so much for my lovely star Sue, I have just put it in my signature. Also (Sorry this is slightly off topic) I have finally updated my signaturewith my DMP payments – have cleared £6547.00! :D

Exciting news! I found my first bit of roadkill – a lovely and shiny 5p coin.Woohoo! In other potting news I have found that if I keep a money bag in my handbag it is a handy holding place.

I do have a couple of questions, I won £10 on a scratch card yesterday – would I be allowed to pot that? Also, at the end of the month I am planning to open my tin to bag up and pay in any eligible change, I am going to withdraw it straight after and put it back in my tin as I know that I will spend it if I keep it in the bank - do I need to declare it in my signature?

Hi Lucy! I'll answer your last question first. Of course you can add your scratch card to it .....unless it's over a£1000 and then I HAVE to have a cut!!!! No need to add to your signature what you change at the bank as it'll come in with your Total anyway. Well done with the roadkill. As soon as you're deemed to be able to say ta at to the fags send me a PM and I'll gladly help you out with no bullying! BTW, none of your post was off-topic as it's all about money and money matters! :D

TTT2810, would you kindly pop your No on your siggy for me please? To put your SPC No on, go to "Quick Links" (right side of top green bar), click and then click on "Edit Signature" and you're away. ;) Thanks a lot.

You're most welcome, fishfins, though a shame the No wasn't given so fast!! ;)

Oh well done, Buffy, though as if you'd forget us!! ;)

You be just as stupidly pleased as you wish, AlwaysHappy. Why shouldn't you when saving cash! :D

A special "Hi" to you too, Observer, and....sort your clutter off your bedside table more often so it's in the pot sooner!

I was only joking Sue-UU as I seldom eat cake, but thanks for the advice. DH laughed at my planning but I have a tub with my NR stuff and mints, gums, seeds and nuts next to where I sit. Still just 2 cigs each evening but that's 2 weeks today :j

Fantastic news, Lynne!! Your DH may be laughing at the MO, but it's a great way to do it, just don't forget Ice Poles as they're so refreshing and last a good while. If your DH's still doing it as well then you'll have virtually a free holiday next year!! :D

    Well done, tatabubbly!

Lovely to see you, Hollygym, you've been missed. Sorry to hear about your cold, but a week in Scotland......brilliant!!! :j

Please don't forget to pop your bankings on your siggy please, redbooties. A good idea to cut up your debit card too. ;)
Slinks in with head bowed in shame. Awaiting a stern telling off from Sue.

Aha! Well, I was all set to lecture you, mumof3plusoh, but read your news and weakened at thoughts of you being so rough. You're forgiven - this time. ;)

Cor, it's been a cracking day here, Lynsey, washing all dried and ironed - lovely! :j

Good for you, mummalove, keep on tidying!

Not to worry, kindofagilr, fingers crossed for next time. ;)

I didn't spend anything yesterday so had no change, today I have potted £4.21.

Off to the countryside tomorrow for a meeting, so I am bound to spend some money at the various train stations I have to change at, so should have some change when I eventually make it home :D

    Hope everyone is well

Is it ok to add the £100 to my signature?
The other thing I want to ask. Is it ok to bank extra money from work when you work extra hours. I have been given some temporary extra hours but not sure how long for. Could be a couple of weeks or up to the full half term. I am covering for a teacher who is going off. Not sure this is allowed so thought I would ask the question.
BTW just found 50p in my pocket so have potted that.:T

Well I opened my sealed tin to see if I had one of the kew garden 50p, sad to say I didn't have one in there. I bagged what I could and I have £133 to bank, I put the rest back into another sealed tin and once I've banked the £133 I'm going to cut up my debit card so I can't touch it. I'm really pleased with what I've got already and I think I'm well on target for £500 for Christmas

Glad I wasn't the only one! about 40 50p's and not one of them were the kew gardens! Resisted the urge to count and bag up.... I did however get in a tangle with the sellotape!

I think I'm really getting into the swing of this, I've hit the dizzy heights of 18p!!! :D
At this rate I might have £5 by November ha ha!

Gosh this post did make me chuckle! It's not a race, you will get there when you get there. 1p or £1,000 savings is still a saving!!! I always focus on improving last year, since you're on your first, consider it a starting block.

I'm so glad you're back save and well Sparky xx

All my special 50p's i give to my mum. We are going to check her collection when we can find it. I think i'd only sell the 50p if she has two though lol.

I'm considering going to our n@twest to see if they have one of those machines. If they have i'm going to open an account, pay in my spc money every year then withdraw it straight away. I HATE getting dirty smelly hands counting money.... although saying that, i think i'd want to count the money anyway in case the machine swizzed me lol.

I have been potting but i'm just leaving work from a 12 hour shift so i will update tomorrow.

    Night lovelies

Hi potters, sorry not been on for ages......loads to deal with at home with hubby's redundancy being imminent :(
I am still potting away as much as possible......you never know when the money may be needed......not sure we will make it to end November, but I am hoping that we will not have to use any of it and that the hubby gets a triple figure salary :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
I am actually surprised at how well I am coping, what will be, will be

    Hope you are all well
