  • Oooh, thank you for my gold star,Sue,it is very much appreciated :j.
And welcome back,Sparky. We have missed you.Take care of yourself.

Have done lots of decluttering and tidying the last couple of days-the house does get in a tangle over the school holidays.
Tonight I have potted the £1.72 I have found while tidying. That has got to work out as an hourly rate of,ooooh, let's see, about 8p .(At least my roadkill rate is much higher, but will declare and pot that at the end of the month.)

Fantastic news, Lynne!! Your DH may be laughing at the MO, but it's a great way to do it, just don't forget Ice Poles as they're so refreshing and last a good while. If your DH's still doing it as well then you'll have virtually a free holiday next year!! :D

Thanks for the kind comments. DH is struggling but think he's down to under 10 a day though he's pretty shtoom about it. Ah well. He's banned himself from smoking anywhere near me, in the car or in the house so I can't say more than that :D

Had a bit of a downer today - pouring with rain all day; my oven finally died and no pennies to replace at moment; I quite badly burnt my fingers and then - of course - I REALLY WANTED A CIGARETTE !! :( (didn't have one though). Sorry that's my moan over - must get out more

Potted my £1 today and very impressed at some of the totals going into other people's pots. Very well done everyone

Hope you all have a great Tuesday

  • Sue's going to be cross!!
I opened my sealed pot - just to see if I had a rare 50p in it (I didn't!!)
But counted up and have £20 so, as the pot was getting very heavy, I opened a savings account with F*rst D*rect and have paid in it to there. I won't touch the money til Nov, but it looks quite cool:cool:
Anything that didn't make up to a whole £ I have re potted so haven't started on empty

    Potting another 25p this morning....:D
  • Morning everyone, we had a lovely day at the sea life center in blackpool on Sunday, we had a 2 for 1 voucher so my partner just paid for his ticket at the door and my eldest got in for free. The youngest was also free as he is under 3, the day before I went online and bought my ticket online for only £12.50 rather than on the door price of £17.95 so a nice saving there. We went into a few shops using cash we took with us so got lots of change and barely spent any of it in the arcades apart from a few rides for the boys. Paid with a £20 at b&ms for some bits and bobs we got and the lovely lady at the till said I'm sorry I don't have any notes will change do? This put a smile on my face and I said oooh yes.. she then handed me 6 x £2 coins and some £1 coins..She then started laughing at me with the look I had on my face. Saved them until we got home and potted them.:rotfl::rotfl:
    #350 - new total £284 and £47.05 in other tin :j:j

Window cleaner called today just as I was leaving for work. I only had a £20 note, so his change plus some money I whisked out from under my hubby's nose meant another £10 in the pot! I'm so glad to be taking part in this challenge. I have always saved for Christmas - church xmas club when I was young, school xmas club when my kids were young and over the past few years I've just put it into a savings account, but I must say this is the most fun I've ever had saving :beer:It's very interesting reading other stories and it gives me the incentive to keep at it! Thanks everyone :j

Yayyyyy! Sparky!!!! LC2 and I were just arranging to come view your neighbours houses as we figured you must have gotten so upset to not see us and thats why you hadn't been back to the thread :D:D

Not to worry, LC2 is going to live on the left, and im going to live on the right, we're going to lower the fences to 3ft on both sides so we can talk to each other and come round yours every evening to keep you company :rotfl: arn't you thrilled :D:D

£5 fb sale today and a lovely £2 coin from the post office that I forgot to pot yesterday. Am not going to crack open my tin to look for the illusive kew garden 50p as even if I did find one I wouldnt sell it so it makes no difference if I checked today or in november :D I am still hoping that they will announce a limited edition £2 coin as I think most of us on here would end up with at least one in their collections :rotfl:

Oh also 7p in housekill, im not sure who it is that keeps leaving their odd pence laying around but im not reminding them its there anymore ;)
