Evening all,
I need coffee as my mum and dad are popping over but as we don't drink it, I asked my mum to bring some with her! Feel very cheeky but I don't want to lose a SFD and buy something we don't need/use, is this mean?
Been to the gym today and walked the dogsand going again tomorrow
I'm starting to get really apprehensive about juggling my diet, exercising more, work and debt busting. I am a huge worrier and stress head, and the thought of managing all of the above, plus the normal routine stuff, is making me stressed. What if I don't have time for the gym? or to prepare the fresh food for my diet? and I usually work at home every weekday evening so I don't know how I'm going to fit everything in. Oh and I have my tutees to tutor again after next week  I need more hours in the day and days in the week.
Hope everyone has had a good day
Hello fmess, asking them to bring the coffee is a good idea! I take coffee with me when I know the people only have instant (yukky!), or drink the proper stuff so rarely thst they're unlikely to have any in.
Re the stress: I'd favour the eating well over getting to the gym, as eating right means you can cope with more of life. You have to do your job - that's non-negotiable - and you were chuffed to get tutees, if I remember rightly (huge apologies if I'm wrong here) as it helped with repaying the debt. However, the tutees are what is flexible, so if you need to, you can re-arrange or even drop them. You're cracking on with the debt busting, but don't let it crack you up.
In short, plan ahead (we could all do this!), eat well, get enough sleep and go to work.
And keep coming on here!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Hi everyone,
Today was a SFD for me, and tonight I have made a new spreadsheet, money has been put in envelopes, I took out £100 for food (for me and one teenager) and £10 for the wee ones birthday in January. I've also printed out a copy of the rules for the new challenge and stuck them to my fridge doorTotal debt - £16,687.86 approx. - Paid so far - £13,156.30 - £350. a month to DMP - DFD 17/01/2019 But I WILL make it sooner!!0 -
Hi all Im back for the third time again! This thread is addictive!
LoveaDove Ive checked out the campervan book on Am4zon and it looks brill! And it has good reviews too! I think the chap photographed in the book presented a really good campervan programme that I watched some months ago.. Now that is what I call living the dream
Thanks Kangadoo! I think I must be the only one on the thread whose debt appears to increase throughout the month! The tactic Ive used of throwing all my money toward the loan each payday and then surviving on a £500 interest free overdraft each month has worked for me! I guess it wouldnt be everyones cup of tea but starting each month in the red was a great motivator to stop spending and keep the overdraft down. Its been a tough time but the hardship was worth it :A.
Fmess I dont know if your other half is in on the healthy eating plan but would he be able to help with sharing the cooking and food prep for your evening meals together? And maybe you could take whats left over into work the next day for your lunch. Dont stress! Its all about maintaining a balance and doing what you can in the time that youve got..
Today was a spend day as I forgot to buy fruit and bread during the excitement of yesterdays yellow sticker frenzy! Now this is where I let myself downBy failing to plan properly I lose SFD's. Having said that, today ended up to be an unexpected coffee shop stop with a friend anyway as its out of bounds for Janus
Back to the grindstone tomorrow and hopefully a couple of SFD's!

Evening,
Today was a SFD for me. I had expected to have to pay for the car park but it was free! SO very pleased there. I need to get my figures together for January, but I know it is going to be really really tight!Seriously money saving0 -
Hey all
Been missing in action due to all family commitments over the past few days, but back at home now, with no more plans for the next week but me, DH and the kitty cats - woo hoo!
About to nip over and check out January's challenge - so can't wait to get back on with the debt busting proper style, and work off some of the rubbish I have been eating and drinking in the past few months. I have a credit card I want paid off by end of Feb when interest free on that one runs out, and I am going to weigh myself on new years day and see what the damage is there and how much I need to lose.
Not managed to catch up on all the thread so far, but I hope everyone that was poorly over xmas is feeling better now... love and hugs to all - I really did miss you guys!

Thanks apple muncher, you are right about the tutoring. I am pleased to have it as it means I have extra money to pay off the debt but as you say, if it becomes too much, I could always reduce the amount I do.
I think I need to be more ruthless with the amount of time I spend working at home. This will be easier said than done, as I always want to do my best, but I know there are many teachers who do very little work at home, and they still manage to teach the kids.
I think you are right about the planning, I think I will start a schedule for each day and see where I can fit in the gym etc.

My OH is very good and does all the cooking in our house, but he is not on my healthy eating plan as he hates most vegetables (unless they are roasted in lots of oil) and he is slim already. He is happy to cook all the dinners but I need to assist with the vegetables/salad, as I am mainly eating the same protein as him but replacing the carb section of the meal with veg/salad. I'm hoping if he sees me do it a few times, and if I bury my head in my work or I'm out tutoring, he will take over and make it all for me (this sounds quite lazy but I do all the housework and he does the cooking in return).
I was thinking about having lunch made from the previous nights dinner. I also thought I might prep a lot of salad/fruit/veg on a Sunday evening and place in pots ready to grab during the week.

Evening all. SFD number 13 for me today - stayed in for most of the day as still suffering from a cold, so feet up in front of the tv for me whilst doing some knitting.
Tomorrow I must write down my targets for next month so they are ready to post on NYD.
Planning for another SFD tomorrow so fingers crossed I can reach the target of 15 by NYE.
Hope everyone has a good Monday.

fmess, I wish I were one of those teachers who do little work at home! I've NEVER been in that position! My lessons have to be planned - am genetically incapable of winging it. Teaching MFL can't be winged! Any time I have to spend extra 'quality time' with pupils, I try to double it up with marking.
Maybe try to have 2 nights 'off' a week, or weekends off? With a munchkin to get home to, I set my departure time from work and have to stick to it, so that focuses my mind immensely! I thoroughly enjoy the job, so I'm v lucky!
Sending you hugs:grouphug: and hope you enjoy the rest of the break_party_NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Evening Everybody....
I'm Baaaaaaaaaaaaack!!!!
Safe and sound in London Town.. had a shower, had my dinner and am now sat reading MSE contemplating going to bed for an early rise tomorrow.
I haven't read any posts yet I am sorry so I shall get to that tomorrow just DREADING heading back to work tomorrow but it has to be done!
I honestly cannot wait to print my new personal thread as well - already written and ready to go - because it opens a new exciting thrilling chapter that I am pushing towards - just two days to go and we wave bye bye to 2013...
What are peoples plans for NYE?“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent".0
