SFD 15
Finally got them tallied up and worked out. It's about the only thing I'm doing well on this month.
Food has just scraped in under budget, oh, and fuel.
Spends, well, I always knew that was going to be tough with the first year I've really tried to budget for it.
I've decided that whatever is left on Tuesday night, not that I am planning on having any more spend days before then, change wise is going in my jar, notes are going to next month's budget withdrawl.Feb NST #4
Food £16.55/£200, Fuel £0/£250, Ents £17.47/£180, General £4/£100, SFD 8/15, LTW 11/16

Just checking in ... another sicky lot over here, but on the upside it means plenty of NSD and definitely no sales shopping or surfing, so those goals are well and truly met!
I've also had the chance to revise those goals made at the start of the month, to help me focus on what needs to be done in 2014, so just to say thanks to NSK for the thread and thanks to everyone for the fun and the support. Can't wait to see next month's and get started on that one too!
Crawling back to my pit now ... but happy wishes for a great new year everyone!Stash busting 2014 45 / 60 (balls of yarn)!

Hello Ninjakat!
I hope all of you had a fantastic Christmas!
Well, I gave up my work before Christmas and I have set myself new challenges for 2014 and I am hoping you will continue with your challenges so I can become part of it wholeheartedly this time! In 2014 I must look after the pennies because we will be relying in one income only whilst I further my career and set up a self employment.
I have been looking retrospectively my expenditure over this year! My aim was to save £13,000 but manage £10,000 instead in cash! In addition, I saved £2,400 in children's account and paid personal loans worth up to £6,000!
Therefore, I believe I have done very well!!
This year we also had mayor expenses renovating the bathroom, the kitchen completely and we bought a mini grand piano for my son (piano was paid by credit) but husband is paying it monthly with extra income. However, the expenditure made in the bathroom and kitchen amounts to a lot! I know I could have done much better this year but not time to regret! I am looking to be thrifty in 2014!!
Regards to all and I want to congratulate you again ninjakat for getting rid of your own debt! You are defenitely a lady with tons of determination!

Had another NSD yesterday but had to go out and get some butter, bread and veg for Sunday lunch.
Don't know what's up with me today. Let the chickens out and went back to bed with the paper and a cuppa but then went back to sleep.
Woke up with the cat curled up next to me and when I checked the time it was nearly one o clock.
I felt so bad all day about wasting the day away and can't seem to snap myself out of it now.
I used to dream about being able to get up when I wanted and lay in bed until it suited me.
Funny how some dreams are not what you expect.
Anyway, I'm enjoying catching up on what everyone has been doing over the Xmas holiday and how important families have been in this.
Alot of you have done so well reaching the targets you set for yourselves, considering it's been one of the most expensive (and stressful) times of year.
I can't believe I've stuck to what I had budgeted for and if I can do it at Christmas, then I know I stand a really good chance for the rest of the year.
I've still got a couple of NSD to get, but now the budget pots are empty, there's nowt to spend.
Got everything I need now so just waiting for the next challenge.
Thanks NSK for keeping us focused on on our toes.

Right.. off to the drawing board...“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Evening all. Hope everyone has had a good Christmas.
I had spendy days on Christmas Eve and today, so my SFD total now stands at 12. I had to go out today as I have the lurgy too - so needed to get sinus tablets and cough sweets, along with a new diary and some bits from Lidl (including some pretzels - yum!)
I haven't been keeping a tab on my totals this month, but will be doing so in January - I have been working on my totals in my head but need to write them down in preparation of the new challenge. Can't wait to see what NSK has in store for us.
I will also be posting my goals as well - when I have finalised them.
Hugs to all who need/want them. I'm settling down for a night in front of the TV - heating is on and I have my fleecey blanket for some extra warmth.
Will check in again tomorrow. Have a good evening all.0 -
Howdy all Im back again
Declaring another spend day before I cosy up for the night. Have stocked up on food and fuel ready for the January challenge so I should be ok on both fronts until mid January now.
I think I have found a new obsession and hobby.. as a Te$co yellow sticker stalker! After hovering around the clearance sections this evening, I managed to get £33 worth of food for £10 :T And while I was at the store, I decided to use that £23 saving (adding another £10) to fill the petrol tank while the price of fuel is low, so in effect I gained a free 3/4 tank of fuel.. I might even combine this yellow sticker money saving effort with exercise and jog to the store twice weekly and walk back with the goods so I will be 1. keeping fit 2. grabbing the bargains and 3. saving on fuel/ wear and tear on the car.
Going to watch a bit of telly and make a birthday list ready for when my retro cats wall planner arrives
Night all :wave:Ninja Saving Turtle
