  • Calling you are indeed a Hobbit.... and I am so sorry you had to bury your BIL on such a horrible day. It was something similar for my Aunty a few years back - the rain just wouldn't stop. Made it seem so much sadder when her kids wouldn't leave the grave side... I truly hope your family can muddle through tomorrow and we are all thinking about you!! x x x

May you have pleasant memories of a special day together despite any heartache, missing friends and family and hardship!!

Remember to be nice to one another, speak kindly to family members and don't punch anyone or get so drunk the police need to be called!

I've done so well but I feel like I've hit the proverbial 'wall'. I've managed to pay £100 off my cc each month by emailing asking them reduce my credit limit. This time last year my balance was £2050 and now it's £750. Just another £250 to go and i'll be happy. Also have just £693 to pay off a £2000 loan so come June i'll be £200 better off - cannot wait !!

I have my tallies at last. Food spends so far are £57.82, I also went over my spends budget by £21.83, this is a total of £79.65, which almost matches what I was overdrawn by £80.78, not sure where the £1.13 discrepancy is from though.

The overspend included a new rucksack for me, and a box set of Alan Partridge DVD's which were £9.99 and a £1 less when scanned. I had to do it I love Alan Partridge. I also thought I had a £5 off voucher for a meal at BHS, got to the till and it said the main meal was £5, add to that £2.40 for the drink I had with it, meant a cost of £7.40 for a meal I thought would be £2.40. I also, spent a lot on bus fares, must walk more, but in this weather!

I have enough food to last well in to January and still have £34.40, in T@sco vouchers. They have also sent me a couple more books of coupons £4 off a £40 spend and money off specific items and points coupons.

I got paid early for December but my pay is wrong (I am a shift down), but when they pay us early in December they make various adjustments. However, I can't check exactly what my pay is made up from as my payslip wasn't in the pile, someone must have picked it up by mistake. I will now have to wait until January pay to see if the missing money is added to this pay, what a palava!

I have had my closing loan statement so the loan is now completely cleared and closed.

Anyway I have made this years final debt repayment, so the CC2 balance is now at 0 and I just have the CC1 to pay off now. I am determined to be debt free by June 2014.

I wish I had kept a proper list of what I spent on Xmas pressies ( prices ranged from £1.60 to £15), I know I got some dirt cheap, but I have a feeling the savings were less than what they should have been as the total postage cost £31.50. That'll teach me to buy a heavy cook book, odd shaped items and miss the second class post. In the January sales I will buy all the girls in my family earrings and post on the 1st December.

Off now to enjoy Christmas... Happy Christmas one and all :xmassmile

Happy Christmas fellow DDDers! I hope you all have an amazing day...and a synchronised SFD :D
  • Sooo.................does this mean I actually have real Hobbitses..?..(although I am not assuming you are all hairy as well)...
    Yes NSK, real Hobbits.
Oh dear Stewby, I had the same cold myself a couple of weeks ago so you have my sympathy. Try hot blackcurrant, lemon and honey. When I have one of those hacking coughs I put a couple of drops of Olbas oil in a large bowl of boiling water and cover my head with a towel over the bowl. Breathe in the vapours and it helps clear the congestion in your tubes. My family are all prone to bronchitis and we find this really helps.
Sending hugs to all those in need of them and also best wishes for a happy and peaceful Christmas. xx
