Sorry I haven’t posted for a while but I have been good! Andhave managed to clock up 3 SFDs.
Grrrr because family have now decided to do Xmas gifts whenI thought I was all done! So now I have to traipse out and buy gifts. Stickingto around a tenner for everyone.
Have turned down TWO outings this week! I’m already goingout twice so the extra two will make it 4 times which is just too much. So I havecancelled dinner with my old work girls on thurs (will say I have to work late)and a day trip on Saturday. I have already brought the train tickets so willtry and sell them on to another friend (big group of friends are meeting up forthe day).
Very pleased because Saturday night we got in late fromseeing family and were so tempted to order a pizza. Round the corner from usthey do any pizza, any size, so you can get a massive pizza for £5.99. But thenI remembered we had some canap!s in the freezer so we heated those up instead.
Have to spend today because I have Xmas cards to send out.
I’m off to Tesco to see if I can do my food bank donation!

When it comes to vegetables there are a few that they suggest eating Organic if you can... these include the following....
This is the environmental working groups suggestions. I am more for eating "local" than organic. Although I try to get organic fruit now and then but not on a regular basis.... eating local though has a massive impact on life over here. If you read the book "Not on the Label" as I have in the last few weeks you would choke if you knen what these giant conglomerates are doing to our farmers...
And CCD - Colony Collapse Disorder - that is hitting the UK bee's has wiped out Japans colonies in so much as they now hire hundreds of workers in the north where apples grow to pollinate the trees by hand...:o... yes we need to look after our country - do we really need chicken from brazil, tom's from Morrocco or can we eat in season..

Hi Lilian,
I'm going to say it counts as a spend day, sorry.
I would disagree sorry and say it would count as a SFD as no actual cash changed hands.
Spendy weekend for me Sat was my planned grocery day and spent much less than usual :j:j but DH went out with his work so spent on food and drink but not too bad. Also paid the deposit on a camping trip for the summer as niece is getting married in Cornwall but rather than a costly hotel, we are going to have our holiday at same time and use the tent. DS1 & DD have agreed to pay 1/5th of he cost so very MSE :rotfl:
Yesterday was a spend day as well took the inlaws out for a meal to celebrate their wedding anniversary but being very MSE DS1 DD and DD BF all paid for themselves, normally I would have paid for them but they all work so agreed when they offered to pay.
Today was going to be a SFD but had a pipe to a sink leak fortunately my DF came round with a friend so only had to pay £6.50 for new pipes to be fitted, water everywhere and leaking down through into kitchen:mad: at least happened whilst I was at home.JJ #81 1/20 NSD £4.50/£400 food budget (5 people plus doggy). £68/£150 petrol budget.

Argh I'm going mad here! Love your tumbleweed comment, kat! Hope you're enjoying the action now.
Well, tonight Dh and I need to have a discussion... About a job offer he has received! :j:j:j I'm wearing my smug face now! Don't know any nitty gritty yet, like start date, hols, salary, so I hope to be filled in later.
And almost my first thought? Ooooh goodie, now we can pay more off the mortgage! Kat, you've really changed my way of thinking! Previously, I'd have just put it into savings; now I want to get the house paid off and then (or maybe simultaneously) dump money into pensions.
Emailed my boss today re the potential extra hours on offer. It's all been verbal and vague so far and I'd like to pin her down with written details. Because I don't want to plan the work if plans get changed ans I'm the last to be informed...!
Another NSD today, making me happy. Had a lovely day at work and came home to dh's news.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

Ooh, a dilemma! I would say it's a SFD - the SDs were when the stamps were bought, this is just exchanging those for goods. It's just half of the transaction is delayed. (Similar to buying something online and it being delivered later - the spend day is still the day you put your card details in, not the day it arrives.)
This is all assuming the stamps covered the entire price, mind you - if it was even 1p over, it's a SD and we'll come after you with spreadsheets on spears! :rotfl:February: 5/15 NSD0 -
Hangs my head in shame....:o
I think this is only my second or third check in this month.
I've been mega busy with work, stressing about work and stressing about Christmas presents. It got so bad if I'm honest that on Wednesday night I was nearly in tears. But my new OH calmed me down and gave me a positive talking to. So on Thursday I finished work and got most of my presents ordered online. I literally spent about three hours looking for and buying things.
Work seems to have calmed down a little stress wise too. It's still hectic and busy but the pressure seems to have eased off some.
So Thursday was spend day number two and Saturday was spend day number three. I had a pre-paid massage and got a few more bits for Christmas presents. I also picked up some more naan breads. So I've updated my totals, and also had to put some more into my spends budget. My spends budget includes presents and I haven't gone crazy this year, but I forgot a few people that I have to buy for.
So, three spend days down and six SFD's under my belt.
Now all I have to do is try and get all the presents. I was hoping they would be delivered on Saturday when I was off, but no such luck. Four were, and I think there's another half a dozen to come, but they will have to be collected from the sorting office after failed delivery.
Although I wasn't overly impressed with Ald! if I'm honest, I loved the naan breads I got there. The ones I got on Saturday just aren't the same but the Ald! isn't local local so will have to wait to stock up on them and make do with what I have.
I also realised on Saturday when counting up what was left, that I haven't actually taken my fuel money out of my account. I was going to take it on Saturday, and forgot again, so I'm going to try and see if I can make do without it for the month.
Will have to have a spend day on Thursday to pay for some parking and Friday, Saturday and Monday are looking like they are going to be spend days too.Feb NST #4

Debt Free Date Friday 29th March 2014 :j0 -
Haven't posted for a few days. Big spending day on Saturday - Christmas presents (all within budget!). Quite nice to let my hair down a bit and do some (very considered!) shopping. Also joined up to once a month meals and got going on some bulk meal making. Managed to spend £135 at supermarket (!) but this was for a significant number of meals. No nsd though at the weekend - I think Friday was (Thursday I went to toddler group). Today was a nsd for me - DH has gone out to take ds ice skating with the scouts (he is probably getting a hot drink, plus bus fare home).
Hopefully nsd tomorrow.Oct grocery budget £368.40 / 6000 -
Ok here goes. I think I am failing but can't be sure as I am so confused.
Firstly my Tesc@ vouchers are confusing because, part of me wants to exclusively shop in Tesc@ so that I have a month where I don't spend any cash on food. However, to be MSE I have to shop around, it doesn't make any sense to stick to one shop and pay higher prices just because I have vouchers for that shop.
I went shopping on Friday and spent in Sbury's, FF and Wilko's before going to Tesc@ because it worked out cheaper. Also, there is no real rush to spend my vouchers as they don't expire until 2015. So cash wise I have spent £31.32 on food shopping, I have spent £40.85 from my vouchers, but also had £4 off a £40 shop (which I didn't include in my original budget) and have £57.40 left in vouchers. So I'm thinking I need a cash budget for food as well, but where would this come from?
I then went out on Saturday. I spent £4.99 on some long nosed pilers which is also one of those multitool thingys. Our bathroom door lock is dodgy, even though the landlord has replaced it. I don't fancy getting locked in the bathroom as my housemates aren't the most helpful!
My printer is attached to my PC, and I tried in vain to get it to connect to my laptop but just cant do it. My pc had the blue screen of death a while ago and I've yet to fix it. So on Saturday I went to the library and tried to print my bank statements from July to Nov. July's didn't print, but the rest did, it's taken me a couple of days to cross off what I have spent (checking the receipts against the statements). I must do this monthly. I seem to have a habit of deciding to get the bus withdrawing a tenner. I then go to the shop to buy sweets or a drink to break in to the tenner so I've got change for the bus driver, I must stop this and walk more, or at least have change. The printing cost me £4, I then succumbed to Maccy D's at a cost of £3.77, then got the bus home at £2.10.
I had to get the bus home, as it takes about an hour to walk. It was also too dark to walk and I had been to my storage facility to find my stashed Xmas pressies. I found 2 pressies and also got my Xmas cards, I have plenty and won't need to buy any new to send out.
I still need to find another hidden pressie and buy one, wrap and post everything.
I have checked my bank account and my poxy loan is still showing on my home page as a £0.00 balance, when are they going to sort it out, it's getting annoying.
Also, forgot to mention that I spent £29 on Xmas DVDs (this was for 9) on my last pay day which is from this month's spend allocation. I did have lots of Xmas films on my Freeview-plus box, but since re-tunning it in March it hasn't worked since and everything I had on it I have now lost.
If I can ever work out where I am, I will try to do better.
Edit: I didn't include what I had in my purse £13.15 so have added that to my spend budget it was £126.34 now £139.49.Debt-Free day 30th September 20140
