Hi NSK- I'm cancelling the order in the morning
Even if I was to spend that amount, it would be a lot more productive on a tablet or something. However, I'm going to stick to my budget!:D

Kerfuffle - sounds like a super MSE day for you.. I was off a night shift last night and it's SO nice sleeping during the day cause I kinda feel naughty but LLL's boyfriend is so loud I have had to tell her to make him stand away from my bedroom door when he talks....:rotfl:
See you all tomorrow....
Yep Kat, nana naps on the sofa feel quite decadent too
Now that Hubby has gone to work I can bang and clatter my way round the house as much as I like so my plan for this evening is to make a batch of Bacon and Lentil soup a la Frugal Queen's recipe and sit down with a hot chocolate with whipped cream and crushed candy cane, and watch one of my all time favorite feel good movies, Serendipity.
On a completely different topic I was scheduled for a day off work tomorrow but have just received a phone call asking me to go in and cover someone else's shift. I jumped at the chance as I need the extra cash to achieve my year end goal :T0 -
MORNING!!! Where is everybody - them there tumbler weeds are sweeping through MSEville......:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:..oh how I chortle...
Moving on..............I got up this morning. Are you all proud of me? I am proud of me that's for sure. I got 4.5 hours sleep on Sunday morning and 5 hours sleep last night. I am a little bit sleepy but will be out of here come 3O'Clock and might have a wee nap when I get in. :shhh:
Needing some fruit and veg and need to do some cooking so will head to Tescimos later later when I know all the vegetables will be reduced. I want a butternut squash so I can make soup like this. Nom nom! It' shall be frozen cause I am sure I won't have time to cook anything upon my return to London from Home...
So yesterday at work I completed the most epic spreadsheet I have ever owner.:p:p:p I have a page per month with the front page covered in pictures around the world. I wanted something visual that will snap me back to reality when I go to list what I have bought BUT I also have a picture on each page of places I want to see around the world! Should keep me on track.
Going to consider eBay for a load of vintage style iems but am unsure what to do with them - I have 3-4 teapots / vintage teacup sets (trios) / floral plates / 60 metres of vintage bunting / 3 tiered cake stand / a few single cake stands.. etc... Was going to load it on eBay and start the lot for 99p - worth a go / for pick up only...? Just not sure how this would sell so close to Christmas...
AND.. I have a stack of Burlesque / Vintage books and magasines. I think I just want rid of them before I move. I refuse to move with anything that I am "eventually" going to get rid off and incur a removal van rate..... so out with the old although there are a few bits I intend to keep.....
But alas I have not found a house yet....
Onwards!!!
P.S - Well done Traveller. Super proud of you. I have done the same before.. book it, feel guilty, see the light, send it back....“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Morning all, still got a poxed child but I think today and tomorrow off and back on Wednesday as they are nearly all dried out then wait for DS's to come out, as boring as it is it's doing wonders for my SFDS today will be 6!
NSK, I would hold off the ebay items for now, only cos I don't think they will sell for much now if at all, the only other thing I would suggest is putting them in for an auction?
Planning to do my food bank on Wednesday with DD as part of her kindness elf thing, will go to Poundstretcher this time because I think I will get more for my money depending on whether they stock the items on the list.Squirrelling away in September No 33It's not about the money, it's about financial freedom, being in control of it and living in the natural world and not a material world0 -

Hi all
Sorry, I haven't read through much of the thread yet, will catch up on my break properly. But I wanted to ask whether this counts as a SFD... yesterday I did the food shopping using the Tesc0s savings stamps that I've been collecting this year. I think in terms of health benefits of organic veg, the jury is out - some studies suggest more vitamins/minerals, others suggest no difference to conventional food (though I haven't bothered to read these myself, I'm quoting from the media). I buy organic veg etc when I can not for health reasons but for environmental ones, as there is good evidence that organic farming improves things for wildlife. I'm also concerned about bees as there are some links between the use of certain pesticides and bee numbers declining. However at the moment I'm on a very tight budget so 'normal' veggies for me for a bit! I have also noticed that some organic stuff tastes better, eg, the satsumas I got in my veg box were loads tastier and juicier than Tescos ones!
Re: organic animal farming, I don't know anything about any health benefits or otherwise in terms of organic vs conventional meat/dairy so I can't comment. I'm a bit undecided from a welfare point of view. I'm a vet and have discussed this at length with colleagues who treat farm animals. While sometimes organic farming is better for welfare, there are some issues with restrictions on medication (both for farmers and animals). Additionally, as with all things, there are some terrible organic farms about and some really excellent 'conventional' farms out there, so neither is all good or all bad. As I'm undecided, I always buy British, and wherever possible free range too.
Hope that helps a little bit, I don't think I've really answered your question!!Debt: [STRIKE]£8652[/STRIKE]£8550:eek:

Hm, in terms of the challenge a mixed weekend! Spent more than I intended to on a trip to C0stco, but not much and the stuff I got is mostly cheaper than supermarket equivalents. Also overspent on the £50 Christmas budget, as we needed more batteries for some of the lights we have, so I got a massive pack of rechargeable ones for £13! Not ideal, but very useful in the long run and they will be much cheaper to charge than new ones would be to buy.
Also realised that the tree stand I got on ebay for 99p is actually not that great
as it needs a hole drilling in the tree, which is impossible with our puny normal drill. Also it's MASSIVE! So we will be taking to Oxfam and buying a new one, think OH has found one for £10 that seems suitable. So slightly false economy, but Oxfam will benefit and only 99p (and a lot of time swearing with a drill) wasted....
Food budget is looking tight, only £43 left for the month but Christmas dinner is at the (nearly) in-laws. Perhaps choosing December to cut the budget from £200 - which I always go over- to £180 wasn't the best idea! This challenge is really helping though as I'm much more motivated to stick to things. We'll see how it goes...Debt: [STRIKE]£8652[/STRIKE]£8550:eek:

Hi Lilian,
I'm going to say it counts as a spend day, sorry.0 -

Do you have an 4ldi near you? they do manuka honey for £4.19 (for +10, +15 is £4.99) I've not tried it yet, so don't know how it compares to "real" manuka, but might be worth a try.
Checking in with some spend days and some SFDs.
