And I have not had a SFD yet this month! Eek! Hoping for one tomorrow - I do intend spending tomorrow but will be using my vouchers for B00ts and my money I took from my sealed pot which I have been using towards Christmas presents. am nearly there with my 5 pledges for next year.
Will check in tomorrow with a further update and my totals and budgets etc.
have a good Thursday everyone!0 -
I couldn't wait until tomorrow and checked my bank account online today. My loan is still showing on my home page but it now says £0.00 which is amazing :j, but underneath it says this is not a settlement figure and to phone the bank and ask for one. So my account hasn't been reconciled yet.
I am still very happy though as I have been paying a loan repayment on the various loans I have had since 2004. There was a small break of about 3 months in 2004 when I didn't have a loan, but before this I had two different loans dating back to 2001, what the hell was I thinking especially as in 2006 I had overlapping loans and was making two loan payments for about a year, crazy times.
So I have to pay £15 for my mobile and £81.80 in storage costs and £5 for Secret Santa at work, This leaves me with £121.34 so I will pay for the SS from my food budget with my T@sco vouchers. As it was pay day for me on Friday I have already spent some vouchers and have £98.25 left.
Today is SFD number 4 for me, so I haven't been to the bank, I am running out of food and have dipped in to my Xmas food. I have eaten over the last couple of days 3 packets of bubble chips(crisps) and today a mince pie! It ends as of tomorrow, I have to do some training at work and will go to the bank and shops afterwards.
I still need to get one more pressie and dig out the ones I got during the year, if I can remember where I stashed them.
NSK You have done well to stick to TK M@xx I will be going on a QV@ shopping spree when I am officially debt free.Debt-Free day 30th September 20140 -
Spend day for me - daughter goes dancing on Wednesdays so cost of this paid out. Hoping for SFD tomorrow, on training day, out early and back late so should manage to hold onto my pennies!November make £10/day challenge = £874.14/£300

Go Kat!!! To echoe what everyone else has said... You deserve a treat after your hard work over the last year! Plus - you were still pretty MSE with your spending so it's all good.
Glad some of you like the 'Month Ahead' idea. Maybe we should start a threat for January 2014!!!
Like the idea of sending a 'threat' for Jan. Am sure Kat can give you some ideas!!
And :T:Twell done kat :T:T on such a restrained splurge after becoming debt-free. How on earth did you hold back and only buy essentials?
Spendy day 1 ahead. Food shop, take a meal to a poorly friend, knit, exercise, school run, washing, bake, make reindeer food, send mus1cmagp1e box, plan route for course tomorrow and read Latin book. Simples.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

Good morning!
very stormy here today, glad we had the roof fixed this year. Didn't cycle in this morning as would have been quicker (and saver) walking. So OH gave me a lift.
Should be SFD number 3 today. Gonna get my flu jab today but OH gave me his loose change for the bus.
Tonight I'll make DS clean his boots (well pretend) as I'll want to start a German tradition with him. You clean your boots on the eve the 5th and in the morning of the 6th St Nicolaus will have left a small present in them if your were well behaved (i usually got some sweets and fruit as a child, DS will get the book Santa is coming to Dundee).

I can also relate to the once off the wagon scenario......
When are you planning to get married? Just wondering because you're saving for a wedding and have 9k debt which probably costs more interest than the savings earn unless it's interest free. But using the nearly 4k could almost half your debt and reduce the monthly repayments dramatically. But I'm sure you worked it all out with a spreadsheet, lol.
Off to play some more with mine
Ah, the wedding was planned and venue (most expensive bit) booked before LBM. It's not completely crazy, as we are making some concessions to budget (!) - we're getting married mid-week and keeping it to close friends and family, but the venue is pricey and OH has a large family! We're getting married next August, a date which was chosen on the grounds that it would give us ages to save, only we were very bad about it to start with.So we don't have much wiggle room, sadly.
Though I do wonder if paying 4k off a credit card, then paying for stuff with that would be better? It would reduce the interest vastly, evenif only for a few months, and in theory then over the next 18 months the same amount of cash would have to be found but would be going to different places... I may have to work it all out (in a spreadsheet!), and see if the penalty for early withdrawal of funds from the ISA will be less than the saving on interest. Suspect it would be....

Morning everyone! I'd like to report an NSD for Tuesday (which was unexpected).
Well done everyone on progress so far, and NSK- sounds like an extremely considered spend so hardly a splurge! I may consider the watering-down trick for shampoo and conditioner, how much do you have to water down?Debt: [STRIKE]£8652[/STRIKE]£8550:eek:
