Hi All
Sorry I haven't posted yet and this is a quick one! I have so far done a big online Tesco shop on the 1st and a Pets at home online shop on 2nd. However yesterday and today have been spend free
I will be back later or tomorrow to have a proper chat and have been catching up on your news. Abundant I like your idea of getting a month in front. I am going to give this one some thought as I very much live week to week at the moment.
More soon x'Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain'0 -
NSK, your spends seems justifiable. It must be nice to be able to spend some money on essentials without thinking the money could go towards a debt. :j
[/B]Stewby[/B] You didn't even notice the 100 euros were missing? Wow, that's impressive!:p
I've had a spend day today. I went and got three Christmas presents, which leaves me three to get. Phew, nearly there. I used a £50 giftcard I got for my birthday but still spent £40 odd. As I was having a spend day I got groceries to last, hopefully, a week this evening.
Meal plan working out okay, had a swap of days but that doesn't matter so long as I don't buy more.
Also paid £109 towards my overdraft today. Pleased with that but feels like a drop in the ocean! Finally had my eyes opened and I am ready to tackle my debts!

Loving the "month ahead" and saving by week number (or month) ideas. I need to get ahead too so this is something I'll try to do in 2014. Would be great if there was a thread on it if anyone feels tempted to start one! Finally had my eyes opened and I am ready to tackle my debts!

Hi all!
Finally have had the chance to check in this week! As I was off work last week, it's been pandemonium at work trying to get stuff sorted. We have a new IT system in place, that doesn't realise it's supposed to work and keeps freezing and disconnecting-lovely!
On Sunday, I missed my daughter's performance as my little one was ill. But on Monday, she had to go and get feedback from the director of the drama school and her drama teacher. They said her performance was A1 :T She got 90% out of a 100 and they want her to audition for their agency
. I'm very pleased, as she has worked so hard. She has just started AS levels in Chemistry, Economics, Biology and Psychology and sees her drama as a bit of a pastime. She had to play a devil  and apparently was totally believable (probably more due to the fact she suffers from PMT like me)
Monday was a spendy day, as I had to pay a pound for her oyster to get to her drama school, but I shan't complain
Sunday night the Sky TV went completely and in my mood of fury, I just decided to cancel! I live near loads of trees, so it's always been a problem of some sorts anyway. I am considering getting an extra virgin box, as we have one upstairs that is free with our phone and broadband package.
I bought a freeview box today to tide us over, as I haven't the time to go through the maze of options of virgin tv and it hasn't picked up a signal  It's excluded from the Argoos 30 day money back, so don't know where I stand.
So, my totals so far, Monday spend, tuesday SFD, today spend. Hopefully better luck tomorrow.
Good luck everyone and keep going :T:A Your Always in my heart, you never ever will be forgotten-9/9/14:heart2:0 -
Hello everyone, I'm loving all the chat and the ideas, might start the savings a month at a time thing in January. That sounds good. And I really like the idea of being a month ahead
Also the little squares - I think I would like to colour in little squares that would be very fulfilling!!!:p:p
I have achieved SFD # 3 today. I thought we were supposed to be grocery shopping this evening but DH had decided to eat stale rolls for his lunchhe's really on board with this challenge too and it makes it quite good fun :T
Our budgets are quite high but I don't want to fail and my mum is coming to stay for a fortnight over the holidays, and I usually make sure she has plenty to spend as that what she seems to enjoyso I guess we will have to be very thrifty until she arrives so that she can spend to her hearts desire
Grocery budget £350, Diesel £250, Other £375 (includes hairdresser and dogsitter)
NSD = 3/15
Foodbank = £6.50/£5.00
Notebook done, actually keeping a diary
Debt free date (£5700) 31/3/14 (but we'll still have student loan and bank of MIL loan)
Next year I want to just achieve getting my finances sorted out and saving a good amount each month. Ideally would like to have 10K in my savings account by the end of the year. :A

Hey all...
Go Kat!!! To echoe what everyone else has said... You deserve a treat after your hard work over the last year! Plus - you were still pretty MSE with your spending so it's all good.
Glad some of you like the 'Month Ahead' idea. Maybe we should start a threat for January 2014!!!
:rudolf: Today = SFD number 3 :rudolf:
Also made gym visit 1/3 for this week
Have a great evening people!!!

Hello
Another spendy day which is not good as we are the 4th of the month already:eek: ... tomorrow and Friday should be SFD so that will make me happy.:j
On the downside think my freezer has broken as all my food was swimming in the bottom of it, so that didn't please me but hey ho that's life
Looking at others signatures and seeing things like sealed pot challenges etc so might have to do some lurking.
Have decided to go back to the gym as i have been paying and not going so if i am at the gym i wont be spending (well that's the plan).;)
NSK i would not give you an ear bashing as you have done amazing and your spends are very MSE :A
Sorry for the long post .. will check in tomorrow .. GOOD LUCK everyone keep up the good work xx0 -
Calling14 - when you find your perfect man can you send his twin brother to me please?
NSK - re the mascara issue - do you ever dye your eyelashes? I dyed mine at the weekend and it was the first time I had done it in a while and it was easier than it used to me. And I agree with everyone else - you deserve a treat - so enjoy what you have bought!0
