Hello Chickadees.. I am ready to hit the hay after dragging the moggy back in from her gallivanting outside with the rough and tough neighbourhood cats...
Hope everyone has had a plentiful day and got some goals down either on your own notebook or on here..
I have to make something to eat for tomorrow otherwise I am back to square one tomorrow and buying stuff - and we can't have that now can we....

Hi all
Right no SFD so far this month but it was monthly shop weekend, which I would normally do in one day but had lots of other things to do as well so it got spread over three instead. However I am glad to note that my monthly shop spend started at £288 when I first did it but is now down to £210 and that has included xmas dinner - just need to get the fresh fruit and veg so I am well pleased.
Scores on the doors.
Food £/300
Petrol £/250
Local food bank £5/£5 (did this at tesco on Sunday)
SFD 0/15
Lunch to work 0/15
Declutter 3/20 (leftover from last month as I am determined to do this!!)
Christmas shopping £63.70/£250
Outing £17/£60
Coffee shops etc 0/0
Beauty £0/£10
Takeaways £15/£15
Right budgets all set and I'm ready to go. Will consider my aims for 2014 and get back to those.0 -
I will have to spend some time choosing which of my many notebooks I will use for this challenge and then spend even more time thinking of the challenges. No.1 should probably be to convince OH that we do not need to add 2 ducks to our family which already consists of the 2 of us, 5 dogs, 1 parrot and 3 chickens

Yay, another pet person!
We have 4 dogs and a cat, and one of my targets is to not get any more this year! (Not yet told OH that my friend is struggling with her new puppy and considering giving him up! I might not be able to resist, he's so adorable!)LBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

Hi All
Just been catching up on all of the posts lots of fantastic goals for 2014 :T
need to start thinking of mine ... had no SFD's :eek:as yet. Got the dentist tomorrow and have bought my food shopping today and car has been filled up and Food Bank has been bought so have ticked some off the list :j
Hopefully i can get at least three SFD's this week having to juggle spendy days but i am sure i can achieve 15
Will update my signature later to reflect what i have done so far
Good luck everyone here's to a positive DDD0 -
Yay! Today turned out to be my 1st SFD!
I didn't make it to the bank so food bank predicament was avoided. Shall try and time it with a spendy day.
I forgot to add my goals for 2014:
*Drive a Monster Truck (as you do)
*Go to Hawaii - Have a surf lesson, ukulele lesson and Hula dance lesson whilst there! (I wonder if it would be possible to do the 3 at the same time?!)
*Start a bit of the old p/t study (Subject tbc)
*Catch up with friend's I haven't been able to see this year.
*Get my Ma started on some Mortgage busting!
Night Night DDD-ers!:coffee:
*Do More of What Makes You Happy*0 -
Disappointed - today was all set to be a SFD - then we ran out of milk and I had to pop out for more - had to as hubby was using it to make a cheese sauce to go with tea - grr though for not planning ahead! I have liked the local food bank on fb and they posted a list of items they are currently short of today, so I will go to tesco armed with the food banks wish list and see what I can do with my £5 pledge tomorrow. That still counts as an SFD though right?!November make £10/day challenge = £874.14/£300
December make £10/day challenge = £98.10/£1550 -
I am annoyed this is my first post, I have been busy and this is the first chance to post but still not clear on budgets yet so here goes.
1. Missed the chance to post the first day, but I was here in spirit.
2. 15 SFD, this is SFD day 2. I still have 1 more pressie to get I was hoping to take advantage of Black Friday and cyber Monday but that hasn't happened.
3.Food budget. I have a Tesc@ clubcard and was doing the Christmas saver. I amassed £14.50 in points. I added £100 to my account in September to benefit from the £6 they add to your account, so in total I have got vouchers for £120.50. I am a bit concerned as I selected the option for the vouchers to be posted to me but I still haven't got them. So in the end I had to print them. I guess no one can use them as they have my name on and the last 4 digits of my card no. on them.
I assumed I would get the vouchers in £5 and £10 denominations but they are in odd amounts of £2, £16.50 and £17. As it was pay day for me on Friday I went shopping with my vouchers, but you have to pay the exact amount. So I spent £29 odd and ended up giving the cashier £25 in vouchers and paying the remaning £4 odd with cash I had. The cashier said if I give vouchers over the amount they don't give change/money off vouchers, therefore you/I would lose out.
I need to claify my budget and I will do that tomorrow.
4. Spends, I agreed last Thursday to do Secret Santa at work for £5. This is more of a vehicle for maintaining, and re-establishing more affable working relationships at work. I have worked at lot, but I've had various distractions and haven't been the most sociable, so this should build some bridges.
5. Spends yet to be decided, still have a pressie to get, cards, and post presents.
6. Dropped the work Xmas party form the start, way to expensive for the ticket to go, plus clothes, shoes, travel to and from the venue, and alcohol. Besides we can't all go to the party some of us will have to work. This is also another reason to do Secret Santa at work. I also think our company should pay for the Xmas do, not the low paid staff!
7. £5 from food budget to be sent to the local food bank. I will try to remember to do this tomorrow. It occurred to me that the earlier we all do this, the food bank will know a lot sooner how much they can spend, and what to buy in what quantities for distributing.
8. Batch Cook- No can do, my mini oven broke and being mse I haven't replaced it, in any case I don't have the freezer space.
9. Notebook - Check.
10. DFD - June 2014. I checked my online banking today, my loan balance was £280 ( It was £274 gone up by £6 which is last months interest) my very last monthly direct debit has left my account today which is £285.10, they will deduct a small fee of 30 days interest on the overpayment I made on Friday.
I will check my account on Thursday. I should get a few pounds refund for the difference in the outstanding balance against the DD but that should be the end of it. I cannot wait as I have been paying the thing off for 5 years and it's almost over.
11. Spends keep to a minimum. I am racking my brains trying to think of everything I will need to spend on, more of an update tomorrow.
12. Lunch from home. I have got lots of lunches to take in to work, so okay there.
13. See 11.Debt-Free day 30th September 20140
