Question - why do you not make a lump sum over-payment FIRST and live off whats left?“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Hello everybody!!!
Well ain't it lovely this morning. All dry and not-so-cold for once!.. How are we all feeling this morning - raring to go I hope. My week has a lovely "off on a jolly" style break tomorrow as I will be on a course for two days.. and we all know nothing happens on a Friday don't we - so technically my week ends here...:rotfl:
So I feel I am in limbo - Loveadove - you might agree. Not quite saving yet cause you ain't got nowt to save BUT you are debt free and your kind whistling to yourself looking for something to do....yes?? What am I doing - looking at the Apple website page and "building" my own laptop. Yes that's right - currently stands at £1495. Not good.
So today I shall be looking at alternative companies and what they offer in the way of lightweight super duper better than my netbook laptops..... someone tell me not to buy one yet.......pleaseeeeeeeeee....
So I was ***this*** close to booking an archery lesson for January yesterday at work but realised I forgot my CC and my debit card. £20 for an introductory session with a club that is walkable distance from work. I was thinking it would be nice to sit at home at Christmas knowing I have something already booked and ready to be experiance in the New Year.. cause I know I already have the money earned through OT to pay for it.... hmmmm I shall have a think.........
Speaking of OT three sessions booked for the weekends leading up to heading home to Ireland ON THE 17th TO SEE MUMMY!!!
What more distressing is that all my soap, face wash, cheapo Lidl's shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, mascars, blusher and moisturiser for face AND body have ALL RAN OUT!!! Seriously - all at once?? And BLUSHER... I smell some research coming on.
It shall be whittled down as such..- 3 exceedingly large bar's of exceedingly smelly soap for face and body washing. I shall cut each up into 4 pieces....:rotfl:
- Shampoo and Conditioner in LARGE bottles from TK Maxx to last 2-3 months.
- Moisturising lotion wherever the best sale is...(Tk Maxx?)
- Face moisturiser = Nivea from Lidls...(or TK Maxx?)
- Blusher from Bourjois cause it lasts forever...
- Mascara can scrape through until dutyfree in a few weeks.
Onwards...“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent".0 -

Morning all, off into town this morning with DD3 to do the last of the Christmas present shopping, haven't much to do really which has cheered me up no end. Having our Christmas lunch out together (do this every year):) and I have also turned down the works Christmas lunch, it is free but you have to pay for drinks etc and as its on a day I don't work, I would have to use my fuel.
Yesterday wasn't a SFD, I put fuel in the car and also did some food shopping, so I will update later when I can add todays spends on it. Im really hoping that's it present wise and more or less food wise until the big day, it makes me feel down in the dumps spending money these days.
Anyway off to fat club, and by the time I get back DD3 should be here, see you later

DON'T:naughty:
Maybe wait a month and then be able to spend a bit more and maybe even get a better deal after the christmas madness (and price hikes) are over. So that's you told
Today should be SFD number 3, will probably need to buy milk and bread tomorrow (or might stretch it cheat with milk powder) and bake another bread. Still got the NOvember mindset and don't want to spend during the week
Gonna have a group meeting today in the canteen of all places. Not gonna spend a penny though. You're not allowed to consume your own food there so will munch a cupcake my colleague brought in before and get a coffee at my desk later (own stash in desk).DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -
Morning all
So I have just realised that I haven't actually had a SFD after all yet this month - Sunday morning I bought two coffees for the train because it was OH's birthday (£4.30 - so expensive when you think how much that would buy for a food bank) and then yesterday DS was crying for meatballs and wouldn't eat any tea unless it was meatballs - had to go out and buy some at 7pm! While I was there though I picked up 2 tins of meatballs in sauce for future meatball emergencies! So that was another £4.36.
So, two LSDs rather than SFDs. Hoping for my first one today - I am going to go and pick up some selection boxes for OH's food bank collection but he will give me the cash.
So, scores so far:- SFD 0/15 but hoping for one today.
- Food £4.36/£130.
- “Spend” Money - £0/£90.
- Envelopes to be sorted tonight.
- Drop one Christmas outing/party - done.
- Food bank - £1.66/£5
- DFD - 31st December 2014.
- Lunch from home - today I have cannellini bean falafel things that I made last night to try and tempt DS away from meatballs - didn't work. So I have them with some stale pittas and cherry tomatoes!
- No sales attended!
I've also had a think about my goals for 2014. They are:
1. Get new kitchen installed
2. Arrange will and guardian for DS
3. Debt free by end 2014
4. Declutter the house (especially bedrooms) ready to have new plaster etc put on walls.
5. Save £1000 for 2015 holidays as OH turns 40 and DS turns 5 and starts school.
6. Secret goal number 6 - conceive #2.....My debt free diary | Post Office loan: £2131 1429.38 | Barclaycard: £4429 1988.12 | Paypal Credit £322.71 574.91 | Monzo Flex £169.03 |

Hi Kat
I am a few days late, but have decided to join in with your December Challenge.
99% of my spending is budgeted into my spreadsheet and bills are being paid. In face December is the first month on my snowball calculation, feel good about that.

Had my first SFD yesterday (well school dinner money but thats budgeted for so hoping it doesn't count). However today much to my annoyance realised we had run out of porridge and squash. However had a voucher for asda so cost me just 1.09, so not too bad. Previously would have picked up all sorts whilst in there.
Goals for 2014
1. pay off cc 1 and 2
2. think of some more goals.
Making a big pot of veggie soup today which will last me the week so being good so far. Food bank has been done, went in person, was very surprised by how nice it was, really welcoming, clean and bright. Its a great job they do.
Have a good day everyone, 1 down 30 to go!October Grocery Challenge £4000 -
On the mascara issue Kat, Someone might have already suggested it or you probably know already, but i eeek mine out a little longer by putting a few drips of water in and giving it a good shake.
Should stretch it out to January/February for you.
Eeek on the Mac pc. I would love one but knew they were always super expensive. Good luck on your research xx0
