The item I ordered was not despatched on time and my card was debited before the item was sent. As it was not sent on time I called and was told it would be sent later that week but he was so vague, and I needed the item quickly, I cancelled the order.
5 weeks, and many phone calls and e mails (all of which got promises of action on the refund) nothing happened and I then discovered on this site that this was a common problem. Card company to refund but as another contributor said "that's not really the point".
I will report them to trading standards but I'm amazed that companies like this can be allowed to trade and use credit cards to take money off honest customers.0 -
Has anyone had any feedback from Trading Standards?0

Dodgy or extremely incompetent I can't make my mind up. They kept up the communications the whole time but just lies and broken promises from them.
Bought a vacuum, had 3 weeks of them saying they were going to send it until I go bored of the lies and then asked for a refund which they agreed to do, but much like the vacuum it has never arrived even after I threatened the with small claims court.
I thought because I paid with my debit card I would not be able to get it back that way but I called my bank First Direct first and they will refund the money to me in 3 or 4 days and they will get the money back from them. What a massive waste of time, I normally checkout the websites first before ordering, not sure why I didn't this time but a life lesson that fortunately0 -
There must be some activity there and someone doing something because the Vacuspares web site has been updated. I have had no reply to my many emails though so it would appear that their efforts are in putting a good shop front in place and not servicing customer orders.
My bank has refunded me on a disputed charge with the proviso that should they find that the company has sent goods or argues the toss then they could re-debit. Certainly no goods have arrived (2 months after order) and I don't see them being able to argue that they have.0 -
I have now had a refund on my debit card from my bank. I wait though for the outcome of the Trading Standards investigation.0

You need to tell your Credit Card company this was a fraudulent activity and you will get your money back0
-
Looks like the website has been closed down in the last 24 hours or so so potentially this group of scammers cannot defraud anymore customers for now.0

I managed to get a refund via my bank earlier this year. Reported these guys to the Fraud busters. Got a call today from a police officer from Kent asking if I managed my refund. Told her I had managed it through my bank. Was informed that the owner will be questioned on Monday. Hope they are punished for this!0

Unsure why Police have not stepped in sooner than this. These guys are fraudsters. I am sure they were trading with some stock but primarily accepting orders where no stock existed relying on Credit Card Companies refunding to purchasers knowing they could pocket the proceeds of this crime.
How can a business supposedly doing over 1000 Sales a month(according to Steve) apparently be in this state unless they were deceiving customers and fold so easily.0 -
Does anyone know when Vacuspares vacated Unit 10, Glenmore Centre, Castle Road? It is my belief they kept on trading despite not having premises, so where were they holding all the supposed stocks?0
