  • Do not order from vacusapares
Money taken on day of order despite saying it wouldn't be taken until goods in stock and then no communication and no delivery.

When I chased is was told goods had been disputed. 2 weeks later nothing has arrived and no response to phone or email. Re sported to barclaycard fraud team - be aware and stay clear.

    AVOID AT ALL COSTS
    Latest update
Despite sending a "Letter Before Action" to Vacspares, by recorded delivery and getting a signature for receipt of the letter, these con artists failed to refund my payment and I had to resort to recovering my payment from my card provider after 4 months of aggravation.

Having taken my payment and failed to deliver, my dispute was forwarded to Trading Standards by Citizens Advice Wales. It appears that Trading Standards have considered it unworthy of prosecuting Vacuspares for offences against the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling ) Regulations 2000. I've heard absolutely nothing from them.

After a protracted process of following the letter of the law I contacted my card provider and they agreed to refund the payment I had made as a "Disputed Payment." The refund was credited to my card within 10 working days. Success for me in this instance but I still feel aggrieved that the relevant authority has not stepped in and instigated a criminal prosecution against Vacuspares. Having catalogued all email correspondence between me and the company and compiling the evidence against them, Vacuspares appear to have walked away from this without sanction and pocketing my money.

Hopefully the card provider will have other sanctions that they can impose on the trader. I live in hope that card providers have the ability to take legal action against companies like this.

If there is one lesson I have learnt from this it's research, research and research. Unfortunately I wasn't aware of MoneySavingExpert.com before making my purchase and paid the ultimate penalty. Don't intend making the same mistake again.
I wish all who find themselves in the same place a I found myself the best of luck in recovering your hard earned money. With any luck Vacuspares will go to the wall and the Directors get their just rewards.
  • Looks like from the range of Posts to date that this company ONLY refunds when action is taken to push this or threaten to put this through Small Claims Court. It is strange too that no one seems to be able to prevent this scam from happening. What's the point of Consumer Protection, Trading Regulations, Sale of Goods Act etc if some companies ride rough shod over them all.
Whilst my credit card company has given me a refund with "payment disputed" I would still have an obligation to chase the trader for a refund.
Vacuspares seem to be excellent at telling and emailing lies as well as making up stories that have no facts behind them and are encouraged by one person.
  • I too wish I had read this post before ordering a Dyson fan from this company. The item was shown as being in stock when the order was placed and delivery between 2-5 days. 7 days later (and yes, working days) I still had heard nothing. 11 working days later I saw that the fan had gone out of stock on their web site and no stock until September which wouldn't have helped me. Emailed them to ask if that would affect my order seeing as I had placed it 2 weeks before. Emailed by 'Shirley' to the effect that my order would be fulfilled. 3 weeks later still nothing despite emails to and from. 4 weeks, and promised an ETA for delivery. 4.5 weeks and still no contact.

Action for recovery of my money has now begun.

DO NOT USE THIS FIRM UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.
  • I wish i had read this before buying!!! Just placed an order for a vacuum cleaner, the phone number on the confirmation email doesn't work. Have tried 01795 437491 and 01795 478136 but neither seem to be working, does anyone else have a phone number? I am hoping to cancel this morning.
  • Searched after ordering and getting spun rubbish for a few weeks.

Phone appears to no longer work and no reply to any emails.

    Gutted - really can't afford this.:mad::mad:

If you have alternative numbers or contact details please post.

I called my bank to find out what I can do to get my money back. The bank have to wait 15 days from the transaction date to allow the company to deliver the goods. If you don't hear anything or receive any items, which seems likely, the bank can start proceedings to claim the money back. I am definitely going to do this and hope it doesn't take too long to come back.
  • I have just placed an order and then found all these comments and have rung mastercard who say they can't help until the order doesn't arrive so I wanted to call them but can't get through on the number on the website? Can anyone help?

I unfortunately ordered as well. Since then I have established that the company's registered address is their accountant. I rang them and spoke to a Mr Cork who says Vacuspares should not be trading as they are no longer in business. What they are doing is illegal.
When you contact the credit card company you must demand to be put through to the fraud department. Do not let them try and fob you off by claiming it is a transaction dispute. When the credit card company accept it is fraud they refund the money quicker and hopefully stop Vacuspares being able to draw down on other peoples credit cards in the future.
  • I unfortunately ordered as well. Have now raised the issue with my bank. Have already done a lot of leg work to get proof that VacuSpares is no longer trading and that they should not be taking orders and taking my money.
I have raised the issue with the fraud department of my bank.
As with other posters, their number doesn't work. Payment is taken by Haier Spares - which according to Companies House has a proposal to strike off.
