Good. But how do you know about my advice? Have you trawled back through all my posts since post #1? Don't suppose you counted how many thanks i've had either!
Anyway, i'm not wasting my time on this any more... pointless.PLEASE NOTEMy advice should be used as guidance only. You should always obtain face to face professional advice before taking any action.0 -

I'm actually going to give you a "thanks" for that! :snow_grinPLEASE NOTEMy advice should be used as guidance only. You should always obtain face to face professional advice before taking any action.0 -
What relevance does the length of time he's been a member of a money saving forum have to what legal knowledge he might have?
None. But I wasn't challenging his "legal knowledge" was I?
Just merely curious to know how he can state that someone's advice is always bad on here when he's only been a member a couple of months.PLEASE NOTEMy advice should be used as guidance only. You should always obtain face to face professional advice before taking any action.0 -

I haven't given any "advice" though! I merely made the OP aware of an avenue of appeal which is what she asked.
You have advised them that they have grounds to appeal.
Don't you think the council get loads of appeals from parents who think that parking regulations don't apply to them because they are taking their children to school?0 -
Jamie, Tilt has made it clear that they are not interested in the law, only in suggesting ways to get round it (such as suggesting you could appeal based on exemptions, signage, road layout, etc), and when anyone question's Tilt's series of "what ifs", they will get shot down in flames, but if you dare use what the OP actually said, then you're the bad guy!
Parking on a single yellow line can be dangerous for other road users and pedestrians. It can cause traffic disruption and accidents. Being cold is not an excuse for breaking the law, no matter what the road layout is or what the signs say.
Otherwise, I could use the "Tilt defense" as a reason to speed, drive through red lights, in fact any law which is there for the safety of me and other road users.
"Sorry office, I was doing 40 in the 30 zone because I was cold and I wanted the car engine to heat up"
Spot on!!

Do you know, that's a bloody good question!
I tell you what, i'll ask the OP to come back and clarify that and also give more info about the location, how far he/she parked away from the school itself/whether there was anyone else in the car and anything else we can find to make it CLEAR on what circumstances he/she parked.
Oh.... hang on a minute....
It is irrelevant how far they were parked from the school. Don't you understand this, or do you just choose to ignore it?0 -
